okay, I just got KOS UIT for impulsively firing on an EC-88 in 'wannabe pirate' mode. my moth killed it in one hit. only AFTER which I was warned about my possible standing loss (too late).

I'm not happy about the faction loss, since I had been there working on raising it for the better part of the evening.

There needs to be a warning when you TARGET a vessel alerting you of the standing loss associated with killing it. Quite often, by the time your ordinance leaves the tube, you've secured a major standing loss, so shouldn't the warning come before that happens?

it's not the game's fault if you do something stupid without thinking of the consequences.

I remember I killed Yoda once in Itani space as he was jumpkilling CtC transports. Lost 900 faction for that, had to trade it all back. Kinda makes you go 'screw this, I'm gonna go play Freespace.' or something along those lines - it's very frustrating. However, I don't see a way to fix it...

My best advice would be to wait until the faction system has been fixed. ¬_¬

Simple as this, if your in monitored space, you should leave it up to the defence forces to deal with any people who shouldnt be there, and Cunjo, killing ec-88's in faction space isnt piracy, its simply n00b killing, and you deseverd the faction hit :P

Except it was me, and I did "Yarrr" at him, but seriously, what's an EC88 going to do to a moth.

All I can say is itchy trigger fingers is not the best way to get ahead. :P

Maybe it was a defensive action. It *could* have been a super bus with rockets.

Do what I did: live with it. And use a smaller "test fire" shot before going full-blast.

(But I do would like a warning sign BEFORE we shoot).

This sort of stuff is EXACTLY why I think a reset would be hilarious.

My point still stands, killing stuff in faction guarded areas is dumb, save the itchy fingers for Grey space, and nobodys above the law in this game, thank god! Not even Holdan in his attempt to free the poor confused ctc voys :D

That wasn't the instance I was talking about - yes, I got temporary KOS standing for that, which was stupid, but meh. I was talking about an instance *months* before that, back in Febuary (I think) where I killed you when you were jumpkilling the 'voys. I was still inexperienced with the faction system at that point, and it's many flaws, and didn't think that killing you in that sector would have made a difference. As I remember, we fought each other over that 'voy over 2 systems, trying not to break the 'rules' of the faction system, but I finally did end up killing you (I had hoped just to keep you from firing at the 'voys, but you didn't dodge. >_<).

The Juggling incident was entirely different, and instead involved yoda shooting me as I tried to get in between him and his target. I forget how exactly I ended up with the SF on me and not him...

Ermm, never old warp bug killed voys, and they were immune to the new warp kill sploit then, cos stuff was immune while warping, please explain? I did do some mad runs into itani space to kill voys, but im sure the devs can back me up, I was Itani hated as yodaofborg then, and you would have lost no standing for it.

Maybe you have me confused with someone else.

and ohh! heh, I was juggling the voys outside the NFZ of course, so when I shot you there, I was in no violation, but I was like 10m from the NFZ (well, you saw what I was doing)I drifted back inside it and you shot me :)

and you know, a test shot doesn't work when you're packing two tubes of swarmer missiles on linked fire for you moth's anti-piracy measure...

PS. Rockets on anything other than a rag are no threat whatsoever to a moth; no other ship can carry enough of them to kill it.
