Green gas!
Here's a random thought! What if the green gas that comes out of vents at some stations was flammable?
I remember from years ago when there was a discussion from one of the devs about making the fumes have healing properties. It was a wacky idea that kinda fell by the wayside, but it would be fun to someday do something with it - like make it corrosive at some stations.
yeah...there is one really cool station in Ukari...it has the gas almost shooting Into the station dock :)
Is it Xith gas? Do we lose braincells by sitting in its fumes? Or is it just me?
You have braincells, Leber? News to me, especially after the NSI incident... ;)
smoke and space dust can lower the visibility and it affects the aim range of the weapons. (and you can crush on an asteroid :)
Smoke bombs (rockets) can hide you from the fire of the enemys long range weapons.

I hate docking in the stations with the waste vents right over the docking bay. I feel like I have to go out an decontaminate my ship afterwards.
I always wanted to make areas that had heavy mining / refinery output (ie green gas) be very foggy. But, we had various technical issues relating to fixed-function pipeline cards that I won't go into. Now that we all have pixel shaders anyway, we should do that. Yeah.
:D
Sweet. I want nebulas!
Calling Cerebrim to the Suggestions forum, nebula suggestion clean-up. Bring a mop.
LOL knew that would happen. HA!
LMAO.
yay, some X2 style nebulas would look so good!!
I want puffs of smokes that lingers for a bit where a ship was destroyed.
I'm sure its somewhere on their list of things to do. Right below making the Leviathan wiggle.
It'd be nice to see a little bit of smoky exhaust (any color) coming from the stations' vents.
I'm not sure if it would work, but maybe extend this idea to sectors that neighbor stars: flood the sectors with a luminous 'cloud' to simulate the star's corona?
