I know this was covered a little in the Navigation thread, but I thought it was worth reiterating.
We need to be able to assign targets or places in space a "hotkey." For instance, if I hit shift-1, it should select my "saved" target. Similar to selecting groups of units in a RTS game. Also, you should be able to drop invisible markers in space, that show up on your HUD (a la Descent 3).
Also, would it be possible to change the wormhole animation to something a little less noticable? Either every player is really chatty, or is it just me that every one, even "newbie" players know about the hidden sectors? If it was EV/Star wars, where you just warp off at highspeed, hidden sectors would be much more rewarding.
Another way to do it is like EV, you have to select another system in your "map" to warp. That way you could "buy" access to a hidden sector, and someone pursuing you couldn't follow.

Actually, in EVN all jumps from the sector show up on the map... And that would just make it so only the rich people can go to the hidden sectors...
Listen, NEVER EVER SUGGEST ANY OF THE !@#$%^&*() KEYS
Why? those are the only rows if keys i found avalaible for binding, i like having my binds in numerical order, shift 2, fwee, shift 3, stupid rock, etc.

I'm sure you can find another key to say 'fweeeee!' with. :P
Ummm.
1: Suicidal lemming rolls his eye, then the other then eats a pie.
2: Fweeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
3: Stupid rock!
4: Not hostile!
5: (not sure what this one does, lol)

The devs said they were gonna split the top row from the numpad, so that would solve a lot of our problems.
Umm, i don't have a numpad.
Well too damned bad.
Uh, could we have alt/option and control as modifiers as well? pwease?
Also, SL, couldn't we use F13, F14, and F15? Or pg-up & down? Cmon man, there are a lot of unused keys here... Or howabout the 4-way keys, who uses those?

SL, the function key will make some of the keys work as a numeric keypad... Or you could just get a usb one for about 10 bucks...
