Economy simulation game
Hi,
a game with player owned stations and mass production of goods is a economy simulator where the corporates and governments fight for market and resources. Its not a business for a free-lance pilot who collects scrap metal from space wrecks.
How about to build 2 different games and connect them?
-- In the simulator a company builds a new factory on the starbase - it results that the prices changes in VO.
-- A corporate wants to get rid of a competitor. It hires mercenaries to raid a station and pays extra money for each destroyed ship. - in VO thereis a raid event or mission.
-- etc.
The only problem is the time resolution. A year in an ordinal economy simulator should last about 1-2 RL hours ... this fast you can not do a raid ...

It's part of the crafting discussion, but I think you could integrate a dynamic economy easily into V.O. You don't need to speed up time or anything.

I do not want to speed up the time.
I only remarked that in simulation you have to wait a week to see the effect of your decision. In playable strategic games it is much faster.

I don't think they'll be building a game on top of the game.
What they might do is allow for guild/player owned factories and guild/player set missons.
