Station K-put
Wouldn't it be cool for a cap ship (PinTPG or else) to actually be able to blow up a station?
Isn't this the perfect excuse for devs to blow "excess" player inventories like 200 Neut3 weapons depots?
Wouldn't it be great to have blow-the-capital events where nation X needs to sneak into enemy territory with a bunch of heavy machinery, avoid Strike Forces, run like hell and finally deliver some blows to a station?
(me wants to blow things up)
Obviously, much ammo would be required. Much more than a cap ship fireworks. And station would need to respawn at some point, bringing another mission to the lot: rebuild-the-capital where loads of ore and material need to be brought to a given sector for the station to re-spawn.

Better yet: Re-enact the 7 minute battle, Goliaths and all. Jump 60 Serco cap ships into Deneb, then watch what happens.
I like the idea regarding equipment storage too.
Stockpiles would always run a risk... nifty

The "7 minute battle" is a myth cooked up by the Itani in an attempt to bring in positive public opinion in what was waning interest in what was in all respects, a losing war. The so-called "7 minute battle," was less a battle than a complete fiasco on the part of the Itani scientists. They believed that they could control the enormous power requirements that the cannons required, and ended up obliterating not only a large portion of the Serco fleet, but also many of their defending ships when the Goliath Cannons overloaded. To cover up for their error, the Itani rebuilt the shells of the Goliath Cannons to maintain the illusion of their victory, but the simple fact that no one has since seen a single Goliath Cannon in action is a testament to the severity of the Itani blunder and the subsequent coverup.

The Serco begin a large-scale incursion into Itani territory. During combat, Itani pilots hear the Serco screaming epithets and demanding vengeance for various atrocities, unusually emotional battlefield behavior for the Serco. A number of long battles follow, many times during which the Itani are hard pressed to push back the invasion, despite the use of the Goliath Cannon.
That's after the Seven Minute Battle, and the Goliath Cannon were in use...
