Plugins!!!
Being a newbie to this great universe and loving it as well i might add, to make the game more user friendly on the binding process, what would the views be of adding a plugin capability to the game.
This way u could trade with other user their config. for flying or fighting. or assist with groups as you could share command keys, that active set flying patterns???
Or another idea as a mentor you could then give your students rewards, as in the form of shortcut commands that they could drop in their plugins, once a task has been completed to your satisfaction.
Now this is just a rough idea, so if you want to expand it or trash the mere suggestion then go for it. No idea is a bad idea, but there is always better ones.

plugins + Multiplayer = disaster.
It's a historically-proven fact.
with an MMOG, the only solution is to build the wanted features into the game.

what, you mean like the /load command?
:O
:O
eh, WoW has a lot of plugins and a public interface to create plugins and quite a few of them are pretty much required if you're doing anything serious with a RAID.
some of the stuff trickles back into the main client, but not all of it. besides, it helps offload stuff from overworked devs. :-)

WoW is the exception... not the rule. lol.
From a conversation on IRC, I learned that the binding system is still too tedious for some gamers.
Maybe it would be useful to have the option of creating "binds plugins", like zardos suggested, a unique file type, recognized by vendetta, that you can just dump into a folder and that will enable the binds included in the file. To be able to change the trigger key in-game would be icing on top of the cake.
On the idea of plugins as a whole: The problem here is, I think, that you would have to ensure that plugins do not offer unfair advantages over those that do not have them, or else new players would be completely overwhelmed (both by the more seasoned players in-game and in the community as such whilst trying to find out the plug-ins that really are wort downloading).
In games like Halo, UT2k4, Q3A and all the others, it is not such a big deal, because the mods only apply to single servers, and subsequently to all players on them, but this is not feasible here.
