not a good combination... the serco lose an extraordinary number of convoys in B-8 every week because it's convenient - tanis and tani-frendly UIT are in that sector almost 24/7, making it very difficult for the serco convoy to survive and reach it's destination.
Unfortunately, I can't think of anything (other than completely redesigning the WH routes) that would solve this problem without sacrificing some of the playability of CtC... getting players to relocate their favorite fighting arena would not be easy either.
Can anyone cook up a workable solution? one that would keep the start points of the voys in close proximity, and the routes out of B-8?

i demand that no one mess with the convoys in b8 and i will make everyone stick their tongue in a fan so there you happy?
The problem is that the reason B8 is such a battleground is that it's a CTC chokepoint. Changing the route would do little to change anything.
I move that all serco relocate to Bractus E-2. Until the itani and UIT get a clue, we'll fight duels. That is all.
how bout Odia? Everyone already buys from Odia anyway so why not fight there?
what?? people buy ships in oida!!

What??? Someone used the word "everyone", and it was an exaggeration??? Whoa!
Anyway, regarding Sedina B-8: Everyone has control over exactly one person, themselves (and I'm not even exaggerating, despite using the word "everyone"). This means you cannot stop people from fighting in Sedina B-8. However, you can do whatever you want to do, and they can't stop you either. If all the Serco players want to leave Sedina B-8 and instead duel in Bractus E-2, then they can. That doesn't force the Itani and UIT players to leave B-8, but it does put the same pressure on the Itani convoy route. Choose what it is you are going to do, and do it. Don't expect anyone else to do what you want them to, just because you want them to. You can ask them to do or not do something, but you cannot force them.

I hang in B8 for two reasons. 1) Serco Convoy 2)Serco come to defend that convoey.
Because of 1 & 2 it's a great spot to battle. If the convoys were moved, I'd probably move with it. What I'm not going to do is move upto bractus to defend ctc cargo, have NO interest in your little trade war, I merely wish to kill the convoy and any defending serco. So change it if you want, though I hardly think much would change.

who?me? I buy ships all the time in Odia, in fact I'm in odia I'd say about 30% of the time I play, you just don't see me there. Closest Tunguska Station is in Odia!

Players come to B8 to pick a fight.
A month ago a bunch of us moved from Sedina to Bractus to try fighting there.
Bractus is less laggy and all of us had a lot of fun. While we were fighting in Bractus, Serco voys were still being destroyed in Sedina B8 and situation was a bit easier for attackers since most of usual serco B8 residents were having fun fighting in Bractus.

Cunjo, I have been suggesting they move since people started fighting in Sedina B8, and then the devs went and stuck the race tracks there, and the frigate battles, and now the new hive code test, well, with all these things in place (not to mention the serco ctc trans) it gives Sedina the most presence in the loonyverse (John musta picked up on every snidy remark I have made about this :P so I wont make more) - so even I peeled myself off my roid in bractus b14, and headed to Sedina.
There are several reasons why people go to Sedina B-8 instead of Bractus E-2. Three that come to mind immediately are:
1)Location; Sedina Is 3 jumps from UIT capital Bractus is 5.
2)Equipment; While there is a Corvus station in Bractus, it doesn't offer the prefered ships, nor is there a TPG(Marauder) or Orion(Centurion Rev C) station nearby. Ineubis is damn stingey with ships and weapons unlike Xang Xi which is generous.
3)Attractions; The race tracks and mazes are in Sedina and there is nothing comparable in Bractus. The devs use Sedina for testing.
The wormholes need to be rerouted, so that either Bractus is closer, or Sedina is further from the UIT capital, possibly both.
I suggested buffing the Axia wraith early on. (Axia station 2 jumps from Bractus) This would be a start. Ineubis should also offer better equipment as should the Corvus station in Bractus.
Racetracks could be added to the Bractus system or some new type of diversion. It would be nice too, if the devs didn't use Sedina as their "testing ground". Spawning the capital ships in B-8 and testing the new hive AI and Leviathan in Sedina certainly didn't help matters. In short, it appears the devs are trying to attract everyone to Sedina. Are the devs Itani?
Oh, BTW johnhawl218, thank you very much for your 2 cents. You outlined the problem most efficiently.
A) you don't care about CtC
B) you pop the convoy because it's there

Most Itani I know would be happy to move combat to bractus. It makes it much more convienient to home in Itani space and still be near battle. Of course you realize that if combat is moved to bractus, it will take a lot longer for Serco to get Proms and SVG's to the combat area. It's a double-edged sword.
Personally, I think if Serco moved themselves to Bractus, the Itani moving towards Sedina would run into them and fights would break out in bractus. If the Serco are destroyed and the Itani continue to go towards Sedina, then the Serco would then have to kill the Itani in Sedina, then move back to bractus. It would be a give and take of territory.

This is another place where the low playerbase shows. That's the big reason I think there's a "X sector is the PvP sector" mentality - if there wasn't a specific location that people went to PvP, then the playerbase would be spread all over, and those players interested in finding PvP would have a much harder time finding it.
If Serco start camping the Bractus E-2 WH, the situation Ghost describes should be the result - but because of the low playerbase, I don't think it would be. You can easily spend 1/2 an hour in Bractus E-2 without seeing anyone. If you're looking for PvP, that's boring.

Yeah, as much as I like the fact that the universe is huge enough for a lot of people, I think that it should be a good deal smaller,
and then expand with the player base. Not expand in lieu of a high population.
If people meet other people regularly around them, they will develop relationships and create lots of B8-like places.

Well, I don't think the universe should be made any smaller at this point. I just think that for the time being, with the small player base that we have, we're just going to have to accept that there is going to be pretty much one single "de facto" PvP sector. Right now, that's Sedina B-8. I don't like it, but as I see it there's really only two solutions: either shrink the universe drastically, or grow a larger playerbase. Growing the playerbase is going to take a good bit of time, and while it's growing, we'll just have to deal with having a single PvP sector. I like the idea of shrinking the universe even less than I like having a single PvP sector, so I'm content to just wait as the playerbase grows.
i think the biggest thing is B-8 has gotten a reputation fro being the dueling sector. and because it is a center for player activity many of the test features have been placed there so that we will interact with them more and make for a better test (nothing worse than finding out one of the racetracks have been broken for months and it just never came up because no one found that perticular track.
This is a definite problem, but know that there are also many Serco is B8 that protect the convoy. I for one wait for Itani's to kill the transport and then quickly snatch it and deliver it to Serco. Other times I kill the transport myself and deliver it to the sercs.
However, there is still an obvious problem that needs to be addressed.
My suggestion: Have the Itani Convoy begin in Sedina as well and have its destination be closer (or not, does it really matter?)

You totally misunderstood me Beolach, I said move the convoy and I'll move with it. I like killing the serco transport, but I hate transporting it's goods, if the serco departer station were moved, I would move so that I could still kill the transport. I go to B8 because there are serco there that defend it and so I get my pvp as well, but it's the convoys I enjoy popping the most, and then clearing out the straggling bots. Unless there are 6 transports and a million bots following me.
Move the locations, by all means. Either way, people will always flock to B8, it's a choak point between grey space and UIT space on that side of UIT space, same as Edras. Just more serco in Sedina the Edras.
