pissed off
I hate the new update you just killed ctc for alot of us that enjoy doing it. It is a disadvantage to us when we cannot catch our voy after being destroyed because we have to wait for the battery every single time we want to jump thats bullshit. And i wont play anymore til you fix it. Total bullshit and you know these same people will also find a way to exploit it and then cry when it happens to them. PUT IT BACK NOWWWW!!!!!
Actually, and I know you won't agree with me, I've always thought CtC needed something like this to make it more difficult. It's been way too easy in the past to home somplace along the convoy's path and jump back in if you are destroyed. It's also been way to easy for someone to jump in, destroy the trans, and turbo out with the cargo...the current way helps the defender...the aggressor should have a tough time stealing cargo....
This does change the stratagies that will be used in CtC..but I don't see it as being a bad thing....
Just my 2 cents worth....

I'm with Beamrider here. It cuts both ways, the defenders can't get back to it easily when they've been destroyed, but the same goes for the attackers, once they're destroyed, they have just as hard a time getting back to attack again. So as far as I'm concerned, this doesn't give either side an advantage. There are problems with CtC, but the new jump stuff doesn't change any of them.
one downside is that the transpors run towards the defenders home territory, so the only ones who can die and come to meet it now with any real success would be defenders. they can home in their own space and run to meet the voy.
Nah, there's plenty of places to home along either route, before it gets into nation territory. Of course, the whole Itani station in Edras I-2 imbalance gives Serco one less sector to attack it in, but that's not new. /me & lots of other people think that there should be a Serco station in Ukari A-10.
Shouldn't the transports have to wait for a full battery before jumping too?
thats a good question and i have no answer and what about those atlases that are everywhere and dont forget the SF and cap ships
speaking of cap ships what kind of batt do they use??
FYI, that "edit" button is there at the bottom of your post for a reason. If you need to add more to your comment, that's what it's for. :P
The transports *should* need to have a full battery, but if they have infiniboost, then it's not really an issue. Also, I dunno if they boost at all. I don't even think they do....

the NPC atlases don't boost at all, i don't think the CTC convou boosts, and the cap ship is on a totaly different scale and wouldn't use fighter batteries, and fighter sized jump engins so the rules can be different for it.
the strike forces probably should be affected by the change, i have no idea if they are, it's kinda' hard to tell when you're running away from them.

Both the NPC atlases and the CtC transports can turbo, and will if an "enemy" ship is within 500m or so. But the identify friend/foe is imperfect, and by the time a true enemy is within 500m, turboing isn't likely to do the NPC atlas or the CtC transport much good (if fact, it usually hurts more than it helps, as it forces straight-line travel, with no dodging). It can actually be used as a "semi-exploit", because players can drop their Itani or Serco standing to less than -600, and then fly close to the Itani or Serco CtC transports, getting them to turbo, so that they deliver faster.
All the Cap Ships I've seen so far appear to have infinite energy, with no battery.

In my experience bots seem to have infinite energy too. They'll just keep shooting and shooting at you and NEVER stop (unless they fall out of range of course...)
Anyway, using the WH effect for the inter-system jump is really awkward, I hope you guys fix it soon :P

Eeh..I don't think they have infinite energy. If you go fight a tycorp, and dodge while it wastes it's shots, it's rate of fire slows after it runs out of energy. . . at least, that's what I remember.
Bots in the old uni had medium engines and f-c batteries. Not sure about here....
