Automatic anti-missile systems (miniture homing missiles or laser turrets?)? Targetable warheads? Anti-munition mines? Something really cool I've not thought of, or dare I say, leave it like it is?

Imagine that. The idea that the devs might not just outright copy an existing game.

Babelfish apparently translates chikai 「近い」as "is close, it rubbed". ばかな。

I said "tetes-de-guerres," not "dents-de-guerre." Tetes-de-guerres == warheads. Then again, you might have tried to translate my "dendre" typo. I meant to say "defendre."
