Ejection pod thingy
I was just playing wing commander and the eject pods they use could be put to use in vendetta:
After they eject the people float around for a certain length of time and return to the station, but if they are picked up before the time limit they are treated like cargo. still retaining their "team" they would have to either escape from whatever base they were at (if it was another teams) or just get to the station faster.
Alternatively if they were destroyed by some sadistic psycho while they float helplessly in space they would return to the station, or mabye they die in the game and have to start a new name or something.
I havent quite waorked all this out, but i would like to see it sometime in the future (near or far) i think it could add a whole new level to the game :D

Well, Guild Software made it clear that they won't having characters that truly die (where you have to enter in your name etc. all over again). I do however like the idea of having some kind of ejection seat, that would perhaps get your ship and equipment back with minimal (or no) cost. And I also like the idea of requiring your teammate to pick your pod up like cargo for the rescue process. It certainly would encourage teamwork and it might help make buddies, if the two continuously help each other so they pay less when they die. In addition, maybe the person who retrieves an escape pod would get rewarded money. So it would be a win-win situation. It would also require a pilot to make the decision on whether they should rescue their fallen buddy or whether they should continue engaging the enemy in the middle of a battle. In any case, your idea would create a lot of interesting options in gameplay, which is something I hope to see for the future of Vendetta.
mmmmm i would roam the sectors with a stolen prison ship pickying anyone up and relassing those i like. Suicidal lemming laughs evily.
Sweet!! A new idea, Lemming. Haha! Grab enemy escape pods to hold players for ransom! Or just get double the bounty if you collect an enemy alive. That would kick ass.
Actually i myself would shoot em down :)
