Guild Council voting via the Web
I expect a lot of guilds have trouble organizing the voting for changing a guilds council around. I suggest that rather than just having it as an in game option, possibly have a voting page that's accessible through your "Your Stats" page.
The voting page could contain a list of guild members, votes for each member, and the possibility of adding/removing a vote. To prevent accumulation they could possibly time out weekly.
This should make it a much easier task to keep the guilds fresh and to change positions as required..

Very good suggestion.:)
yes i like this idea, it's allways a pain having to try and get a disperse council together and takes quite a wile this whould let the guilds works better and let a bit more be handled out of game...hell you could even vote from a phone with a web browser or a psp with a 3rd party web client on it, it'd make managing the kind of guild stuff that needs a vote a lot easier.
Nice idea martin
Semi-suggested in my previous thread also. Other online (non-in-game) website ideas there too:

Yarr, we 'ad a problem with this earlier t'day, in point o' fact. Ol' Rum would be pleased t'see this idea in t'game.
I hereby give this idea my most excellent stamp of approval, which, as everyone knows, has far greater value than all other stamps of approval, with the sole exception of those belonging to Guild Software, Inc.
yes
ahuh.
I thought that I heard that votes last for 24 hours, so the entire council doesn't need to be on at the same time. So you just need to get everyone to log in and vote within a day of each other. I don't know where I heard this, and I haven't tried it. YMMV.
But even so, a web interface is handy.

sort of klox, wile the votes themselves dont have to be all at the same time, the person the vote is about must be online for all the votes. Even if that person remains logged in and idle, if he/she times out, looses connection, has a cat step on the power bar switch, etc etc the vote is a loss.
Good one Martin! I agree!
Seta
(heh... starts working on the hack to vote on [BLAK] stuff, too... now *that* would be FUN! e.g.:
Should we publish our Roid Rammer routes in the Pirates Daily tabloid?
[ ]Yes [ ]No
Seta votes "yes", and prepares to subscribe...
see how keen-o that would be?)

Bump.
This is a very good idea. It can be very hard to get an entire Council in-game simultaneously. Even if there isn't a web interface, at the very least there should be a window of 3 or 4 days for voting so that everyone doesn't have to be in-game at the exact same time. The devs would have to help out less with changes to the Council because setting up votes would be much easier. This goes along with some suggestions in the "Guild System" thread.

[Stamp of Approval]™
Yes. Actually having a lot of things like the bank, voting, simple messaging, invites, etc. on a secure website would be rather awesome.
I thought the idea was for people to login into the game, not give them the tools to stay out?
Stamp!
