Shortly after release, there were a few threads on alternate account plans, including family/group accounts or discounts, and pay-per-play-time plans. Incarnate did say they were not opposed to the ideas, and would like to figure out some working solutions for them. I think it's just one of the many things that the devs would like to do, but haven't done yet, due to too many things for 4 devs to do all at once.
