Music & Sound
Being a musician, I found the sound effects and music during my 8 hour trial to be quite annoying after a while. The gun sound was the same exact sound all the time with no variation or ambience (if there was a slight ambience surrounding the sound, the mixing of two of the same sounds at slightly different times could yield slightly different results every time). The music got very dull and odd after a while, and some different music would be nice. My suggestion with music is that there be an option for a user music folder (mp3/aiff/wav), or maybe a link to an iTunes library, or the option to play a user CD. This would be similar to FPS and the Descent series. If any sound effects are needed I would be glad to help out (I made some sound effects for the open source game Invasion: Battle of Survival). I think it's important to have a complex soundscape to go along with such complex environments! My email is fitchmicah-AT-earthlink.net (PS, I also do some music if you are interested), and I'm really not looking for money here, just to help out!
There is a way to add your own music to Vendetta. Unfortunately you first have to convert from mp3 to .ogg format. It's not very well documented, either.
(I agree with your other comments, by the way. Here are a few of my own suggestions to improve the sound FX: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/9409 )\
P.S. Paragraph breaks! My poor eyes! ;p

I posted a little thread about the music too, though it didn't get much attention seemingly.

Granted, you can do the encoding thing, drop it in the file, so on. However, this doesn't go well for non-geeks who just want to play a darn game with different music. They'll want to change it in-game—not quit, change the music, login again. That's just bad form when it comes to a game's soundtrack.
