...need some help. I've had some fun watching defenseless trading bots being ripped to shreds while caught in storms, but then I got this idea:

what if when you hail one in storm they could ask for help? and then if you escort it (ie: destroy hive bots that attack it) and it gets safely out of the storm it can give you a reward, either cash $$ or perhaps a few standing points to what ever faction they are from...

Now that I have read it, however, I must say I love your ideas.

especially them giving you inside info.

i definately think this makes sence, however i'd also like to add the posability of the traders making a convoy if you hail them in non-threataning space. you know, so that you can group a number of npcs together and escort them for a better profit margin (provided you can protect them all).

To help with this, I'd like it if you could /group invite "*NPC Trader" and they would automatically join your group, assuming you met certain requirements (good enough standing, maybe other requirements too).

Well I liked Phaselights idea when he posted it, and I like this idea as well. Perhaps after the hive update, while (hopefully) a crafting system is being devised, they can divert a little time to this avenue of interaction with npcs.
