Say, what's the limit of the no-fire zone? I foresee a very bloody and short and bloody game. Did I mention it will be very bloody?

One of the remaining problem with this is that people still can come with loaded ships. No way around that, though. Best option is to announce the ore AFTER everyone's in-sector, so no-one knows which type it is.

The other problem is people buying the ore in-station. The simplest solution would be to choose an ore the station doesn't sell, but I don't know if stations don't sell ore that's in the asteroids around them.

The NFZ for most stations is 2000m, but I think at Corvus stations it's less (or at least, it should be).

You can tell the difference between station-bought & other ores easily. All the ores stations sell are not "Premium", and all ores that are mined are "Premium", except the rare ores that are not sold at stations (Heliocene, Lanthanic, etc.).

I think I have found a way to circumvent ecerything except 1-stockpiling ores at all stations in grayspace.

I have several stations in mind, but I need to confirm the NFZ for the particular stations, and make sure that the roids to mine are outside that radius. Otherwise the Seekers will outnumber players (might be fun, but eh, laggy...)

Bloody is good. Cramped is good. Lots of PK's, lots of fun. I think the locale will change every time. We'll see how long it actually TAKES to do this. It might take a while, since I forsee the ore changing hands quite a bit. Then again, it might take only 5 minutes. Who knows? I'm sure the rules will evolve as time goes on.

And yes, jexkerome, we'll announce the ore AFTER everyone is in-sector. Once I announce the system, we'll give everyone 10 minutes to get there.

No mining in the NFZ. PLayers doing so will be disqualified.

In keeping with the name if this game (VENDETTA), I think we should have a monetary prize for the best job of taunting during this event.
Taunting is a skill, and unlike the NFL, there are no penalties here for it.
The winning taunt must be broadcast in Sector chat so that everyone can see it. The event coordinator will review the logs after the event and name the winner afterwards.
Now, taunting does not necessarily mean swearing profusely and being aggressively rude. However, it does involve a certain sense of superiority, condescension, and humor. Like a "Zing!" or a "Gotcha!".

For example:
LeberMac is wildly trying to avoid Gavan's tri-neut fire in his mining Centaur. Unsuccessfully. He explodes and splatters his hull over the nearest roid.
Gavan: "LeberMac make sure your mortgage is paid up!"
LeberMac: "Why?"
Gavan: "Cause I OWN you. Ha ha ha haaa..."

OK that was a bad example but you get the point.

The event coordinator will be the sole arbiter of the best taunt. This is a subjective award, given out at the coordinator's discretion.

Anyways, if you say you have most of it figured out, when do we test it? I'd suggest you get together a posse of buddies and try it out in small scale, before call in the event for everyone.

Agreed. Let's try it out this Sunday sometime. Am I abusing the thread if I say "If you want in on the BETA test of this event, Post your ingame name and your nation below!" I guess we'll do a small-scale test with 3 or 4 people from each nation.
And let me know what a good time would be to do this.
