Papa Vult was a strict taskmaster. He had to work hard to feed his family, unlike those arrogant bastards the Proms or the flash rich kids the Cents, our family hasn't got it easy. Mama took on a job too, despite having 7 kids to feed.

My bros Vults I,II,III and IV all did Ok. They got a nice solid education, got out and took on various jobs. Vult III did the best of those 4, getting a decent car (our first!) which allowed him to go infinitboost. But, well, they're OK.

Trouble started with good old sis, Serco Guardian Vult. She decided that being average and standard ain't good enough for her and aimed high. God, being the only girl in the family, Papa loved her to deah. He sent her money so she could go to University Serco, and sis SVG got out with a nice degree in engineering. She met a nice boy there too, that IBG guy, and they got married. SVG ain't pretty, but that IBG guy said she got good thrust and he liked it that way. I bet.

Me brother Corvus Vulturious didn't go to college. But he hung out with them questionable types. Always the rebel, he ran out of home early, got into drugs and all, and ended up in jail more than once. But she's Mama boy, I heard Mama had a 26 hour labour just to pop him out into this world. I believed that story though, because Corvus Vult had asthma since like forever. He can't run. Wait, he CAN run, but he would just pant out in seconds. Boy, when he run he can outsprint anybody though. Mama tried all sorts of voodoo to cure his asthma, but I guess voodoo ain't science. Anyway, we last heard that Corv Vult is now some big head gang-boy in the slums. Mama's always in tears when she heard that, but at least he is somebody.

Which sadly, I am not. You see, I am Mama's big mistake. Papa never made me. Mama would never tell him who, but I heard one night Mama whispering "Aggresso" in her sleep. Well, I can see why Mama could be attracted to those, they do have nice wings in their bodies. But they are kinda, uh, slow. So poor me, Biocom Vult XT, sucks so bad. All bastards do I guess.

Life's tough in the Vult family, being that stepchild of Papa. I ain't no get no loving from Papa. I think i might have asthma too, but at least I can still run better than Corvus Vulturious. But I have no thrust, so no girl will ever want me. I wish I can go to college, but in this world, with no money I ain't going nowhere.

But screw all of this, I am leaving home. I am tired of being ignored. I heard the Marine takes no gooders like me and make em men. Well, I'm joining the Marines today. Papa doesn't care. Mama actually felt relief to see her mistake disappear from home. Maybe if I get killed fighting some stupid war, my family might actually remember me..

I hear what you are saying, but I think the Vulture is more of a short-range defender than a long-range assault or interceptor. Of course, we don't have stationary things to defend (CtC requires an ability to run away or after attackers), but that will change.

Nonetheless, the XT is still pointless. Worse than a MkIV. Why waste the time for it?

not even going to bother with reading your verbos suggestions. But with regards to vultures. The wing bug really needs to be fixed. It just really lame that unskilled newbs can ram into ou all the time and take your life down. As for there manuverability and long range abilities, I like how they handle although if a cent is available I'd take that over a vulture in a second. but they are good, and hard to hit in the hands of a good pilot. I personally like the SVG and BioCom XT out of all of them, 'cept Corvus which I have not gotten yet.

right now, it's an MkIV with less cargospace and less thrust.

Wingbug is not as bad as it could be. it gives vultures a nice weakness that requires -skill- to use. But the XT sucks!

Haha! That was the best suggestion I've ever seen. And yes the vults need fixing badly.

Don't hold your breath on the Vulture wing "bug"... It's been a known "feature" since Alpha (read years) and isn't likey to be addressed any time soon. Roguelazer hit the nail on the head. The wing "bug" balances out the thin profile which gives this ship an advantage in a dogfight. Every strength must be countered by an inherent weakness.

 

Hehe.... I'm suddenly remembering that cap battle a few weeks ago, when I accidentally wingbugged the UIT ship after we had won.

I hadn't heard about the wingbug until then, so imagine my surprise when, after parking right at the joint between the wing panel and the ship, I suddenly got a message saying "Shadow Guardian has destroyed UPK Zelor."

LMAO those chat channels were filled with POed Serco who had wanted that kill... It was actually quite amusing.

naw, it takes skill to do, I've done it over 10 times on my own friggy :)

(it was a cap battle...who ever killed a frigate got 100k for something like that, I killed my own to get money, damn we UITS are good!)
