minor changes
The game looks and feels pretty good. just a few things here.
Turbo sound effects. Should sound like a car accelerating. I'm accelerating, i wanna hear the pitch climp. I'm pulling 230+, i wanna hear it whine. I wanna hear my poor overloaded cargo ship struggle with the load (aaiitt, sputter.. ttthhII, sputter.. IIHHH, etc..) . even make the engines contrary (let off that turbo for a fraction of a second or it's going stall). did han solo flip a switch and go make coffee? a little more imagination here could go a long way. make even the most mundane trip an adventure. (the graphics are already good, sound plz.)
running lights. blinking ones. red ones, blue ones, yellow, and green. (or whatever). a lot of ships are hard to see at distance. make running lights that i can turn on in heavy traffic and off on combat. turn signals might be overkill.
ship highlighter. your targeting highlighter works great. be nice if i could have it on all ships in radar range.(mabey in a dif color than my current target or something)
direction indicator. i want to do perfect braking without using the #$% brake key.
target next key. i don't always want to shoot the closest target.
have a visual indicator for every audible indicator and vise-versa. (hive in secter, enemy recieved damage, etc...)

I agree with the visual/auditory indicators
Running lights would be cool, IF, you can turn them off when you want to. And would like to add, spot lights, controlable or fixed at the front of the ship for some of the more dark sectors or when mining inside roids, etc.

I miss the alpha turbo, it had enough bass to rattle the windows of my neighbor's house when set at 50% volume. :)
Spotlights are out i think, I dont believe the vendetta engine supports the point light sources.

VO engine doesn't support anything besides precompiled lightmaps, afaik. And I miss alpha turbo too.
