PvP large scale?

I'm kind of a newbee so if I sound a little ignorant excuse me. anyway, This game really resembles freespace 2. I always got a great fealing out of being apart of something really "big." ie supporting capital ships, highly organized missions etc. in order to accomplish this, it would be good to have a high ammount of specialization among PC's. for one thing, have many different chasses of ships. (fighter, corvette, support, transport, friget, capital, super capital) have like a 'rank' on your team. and that can determine what your allowed to buy. like experience. I would also be very beneficial if you could hire NPC's to do kind of menial things, like be turrets and run trade routes. well, I just think that on all of the MMORPG's I've played the better ones are where you can hardly ever find two characters alike, and there is virtually no limit to the power one can amass.

perhaps there could be a few levels of play also. Like appointing some tactical commanders for a large battle group, and they could give info and appoint orders...

Another thing is that the game is incredable looking! but when each sector is kinda small, and doesn't really seem to have a purpose, it takes away from the game. for one thing, I propose making each teams "base" sector and base very big and lively. with npc battle ships patrolling and a huge very active home base.

also make the places where you can dock seem more alive. like the buying screen comes up after you dock, make some sort of hanger or shop graphic. also, it would be very good to move the better items out into deep space so they're hard to get.

I don't know, there are just my thoughts from playing the beta.

yes, i agree with this. i'm a newby also. i wouldn't mind taking orders from a commander / coordinator. we could amass several ships from the same nation, appoint a commander and then do some real work against other nations.

just a thought...

while watching "star wars: a new hope", during the attack on the death star by rebel forces, i kind of get into. not only watching what is happening on the screen, but the coordination of the attack and the radio chatter.

isn't this type of attack coordination what make games like "counter strike" really popular. i think it is having to work as a team to accomplish a mission that makes it appealing to many. it is a real social interaction, instead of saying "hi", "bye", "yer dead", etc.

Diagram of what suicidal thinks the ship tree will look like

---------------------------EC-88
-----------------fast medium------heavy medium
--------------light---------Medium-------------Heavy
-----patrol ship-----light gunboat-----heavy gunboat------cruiser
interceptor----fighter-----------gunboat---------light cruiser-----heavy cruiser

The mile stone missions you complete will alow you to receive acces to the next level of ships, say you protect a heavy cruiser from a gunboat and a gunboat in say a medium, your level shall increase.

all ships drammatically to the left or right will need military approval basically, you could have a fighter, gunboat and light cruiser but you will need approval for the purchase of interceptor and heavy cruiser, you could have a light/heavy gunboat but you need approval for patrol ships and cruisers.

so im not alone? ea? another thought. I know thats this game is supposed to be able to run on 56k well, but voice transmissions would be really cool. like maybe when you target someone (friend of foe) you can taunt/help/coordinate with them.

This brings up another thing... like if a person wants to be a fighter, but still wants to be a powerful player, make the craft upgrades VERY powerful. and make the strafing movements happen extremely fast with extencive upgrades. the the dog fighting would be really really sweet. like... the fights on that anime "gundam."

My suggestion to all newbies would be read the main page for a discussion of where the Vendetta Test (the game you are playing) and where Vendetta is going.

I think that will answer many of your questions.
