Guild stations
I checked the FAQ and "stations, owning, buying, etc." was mentioned, but when I did a search for them I couldn't find a tread to fit this subject. If I missed it, then please delete this post and direct me to the correct one.
I think it would lend something to the game to have each guild be able to run a station only for guild members, missions and activities. You could start out with a very small station, with limited facilities, and allow the guilds to buy upgrades to them over a period of time.

I expect this has been mentioned before and is in the loop of things to be done but it's still a cool idea.
Yeah, I think its pretty fair to say that most of the guilds want this, and have talked about it for a while.
To add something new to the debate, what about guild created missions?
If certain mission templates are created, The commander or lieutenants could use these missions to further guild experience. For example, a basic mission might be:
Mission Text:
BLAK pilot, the Vipers are attempting to shut down our activities in Sedina B8. Go destroy 10 VPR ships, and return for your reward.
(this would be a basic mission template, the Commander just enters in the guild that he/she wants to be attacked, the location, and the number of pilots to destroy)
The actual experience gained by this mission would depend on the difficulty, set by the devs, (For each pilot that they kill they might get 100 guild xp, so a Commander can set the difficulty of the mission, but not the amount of experience the pilots actually get)
This guild experience could then be used to procure certain features for the guild as a whole.
So, if 10 pilots take this mission and succeed. BLAK could get 10000 experience, which then could be spent at a particular prompt on special upgrades/stations/whatever.
Missions could range from this, to large trading missions, to mining missions. With the exception that xp gained by trade missions could only be spent on trading upgrades, mining on mining, combat on combat.

Good idea.
I like shape's idea.
I've also suggested allowing guilds to pick a "home station" in the past. Home stations would house guild treasuries, would be a base of operations from which to take guild missions etc.
Being able to build your own stations would also be super-cool... but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I like Shape's idea and that can be extended even more.
Devs can easily develop a random political system that each week can put BLAK in peace with IDF for example. But the next following week it can randomize a result that would put BLACK vs. IDF and throw some template text into station news stating that an IDF pilot attacked a BLAK pilot just to justify why the two guilds are at war in that particular week.
If in the week after the random result was peace then it could state in the news that BLAK AND IDF leaders came to a peace agreement. That way players could cease fire or start fire by reading the news.
Regarding the guild experience for example earned by killing enemy pilots the guild could spend that XP in building blocks for their station whether they are recreational, defense, landing bays, etc...
It's not hard to do but it takes time to do. And I guess time is the dev's enemy.

Why not allow guild commanders to declare war on each other, rather than making it random? It's less arbitrary, and that way the actual players create the political environment. If the guilds are major enough, perhaps it could even automatically generate a small news article.
some great ideas here. A "home station" is a bit different than a "guild station", imo. I don't think such stations should be able to be entered by anyone that is not a member of that guild and should probably be placed in untrafficed areas.
I like Shapes ideas also.
As far as guilds declaring war on one another, I don't think that would work for, say one Itani guild attacking another. The Itani govt would not stand for that, but the battles could happen in gray space, or between UIT guilds, etc. For the Itani and Serco, it would probably just have to be a hostile merger. ;)
