Behemoth ideas?
Ok I got inspiration to this idea by reading the great suggestion in this thread:

The Moth is HUGE and carries alot of cargo. but some clever people have used their engineering skills to modify the moth into a combat edition. First of all the have taken the engine and done some nice custom mods to it so that it has more torque, turbo thrust and better turning, in this process they had to sacrifice the 50/s energydrain and it is now 60 and the top speed is down to 180
Then they cut a hole in the hull and fitted it with a turret formerly only in use by the frigate class and as station defence(?). this turret can be customized to fit all known weapons. And it is driven by an additional (smaller?) battery
They also got rid of all the extra padding/isolation/weight they could find but also the inner layer of armour has been removed. The new weight/armour is 25.000/30.000
How to use this monster machine? well both the pilot and gunner has to be in the same station. the buyer will select weapons and battery both for himself and the gunner. The gunner then type /gunner join "playername" and he is set. The pilot then has to exit the station.
If player want to switch positions that can also be done by typing a command
This is primarily for guilds and i guess the level req. should be kinda high for purchase, especially in combat/lw/hw. I think this could be a great way to get newer players along in combat. And alow for much more coop tactics in combat and a new way of piloting a spacecraft.
this could be a thing for general pvp and for many types of guild combat missions

I like this idea, I would love to see multi-player ships.
In fact, I would propose that the Prometheus be given an upgrade, and then made into a 2-player fighter.

hmm... maybe if it handled more like a moth.. although a prom with a non-turreted rear gunner might be cool..
I think multi-player ships are an excellent idea. It would be a great way to encourage teamwork and socialization.
A similar idea is to have a large "shell" ship that other crafts can dock with to enhance its power. The shell's pilot flys while anyone who docks becomes a gunner (until they release).
The benefits could be things like shared battery power, use of the dock guns on the shell, someone always covering your rear, amplified armor, etc
