Dynamic Racecourse
OK... so, my favorite racecourse so far has been the maze one (at the time of this posting I actually haven't even finished it yet :-p ). But, I'm thinking it will end up giving those who've done it most a huge advantage, because they know the way through, and newer racers wouldn't. So, I think it would be cool to have a maze racetrack, that changed the maze periodically (say, once a week). This would make it so everyone starts off even again, not knowing the way through.
I'm wondering if there would be a way to tie combat XP to a good time on the race courses. I figure you need to know how to fly and handle your ship well to get a good time so it would be an ideal test for some combat XP.
Hmm now for the problems
How to decide what is the minimum time for XP? How much XP? Does ship access make a difference? (yes, ships have different stats) Should there be a standard testing ship layout?

well, the Corvus vult is, theoretically the fastest. But the potential to wingbug is always there.
Rev C's/IBG's are good, as expected.
something needs to be done about mines inside there though, as various unscrupulous people have already begun mining the damn thing.
Other than that, I love it.
:) and assuming everything else worked out, I still have the top score on the maze.

The way through is actually pretty easy: find all of the "backwards" branches, and take them. Or something roughly like that; someone's done that course in under a minute before.
The trouble is spotting the backwards branches while you're trying to race. They're hard to see.
And Dragon of Fire beat you on the maze by quite a bit. He was in a Centurion MkII, too. Lots of room for improvement there though.

Wasn't there that player built race course thingy at one point alkon?
Heh, yeah, but that wasn't ever actually stored to a file or anything, so it's lost forever. That idea is what led to the development of the existing race tracks though.
I'm still upset I was beat on Sedina B5 by one millisecond.

There could be a second type of statues that only grows by proof of skill. You have to show agility to grow levels in agility which will allow you to buy parts with better agility & speed. A maze would show agility & speed. This could apply for sniping, mining, etc..
Oh, another thing that I think would be really cool with the race tracks, is some of them could spin, like some of the 'roids do.

Ah, dude! A1lk0n, don't go just telling the way through! That takes all the fun out of it. At least rot13 it & put spoiler warnings in.
