Hi,
although the update should have fixed it, the station stutter bug still exists - you stay in the station, chat a little bit, and it's going slower and slower. When leaving the station, you practically can do nothing - even logging out is very hard work.
Regards,
Mark

Hmm, I don't recall hearing that one.
What are your system specs? (cpu/ram/video card/os)
There are some memory leaks that aren't really leaks but they tend to clog up the system. However it shouldn't be as bad as you're describing.

Yes I'm still experiencing the same problem. Today I made the mistake of sitting in a station for a half hour, and when I came out it took a good 4 minutes just to hit the exit button.
IMHO it has become much worse in 3.2.8 - in 3.2.7 it was just occasionally occuring (when a lot of things were happening outside), now it's starting to go critical after a couple of minutes - even in "quiet" sectors.
Now it's really deadly to sit a couple of minutes in station 18 and coming out.
RayBondo: PowerBook 2000 (G3/500, "Pismo"), 256 MB Ram, Mac OS X 10.2.6
The only good thing about this bug: you can predict it. When you're sitting in a station, chatting and the mouse starts to move slowly, it's time to log off and on again - eliminating this problem.

So just logging off and reconnecting fixes it? You don't have to exit Vendetta and re-run it?
Ok, i will see what is going on with that.
incarnate: yup - just logging off and on fixes it, you don't have to quit vendetta

No "stutter" is noticable to me, though the fairly large amount of memory may help :D

buckaroo do you mean that you are unable do anything, nor chat nor press activate, but you can fly around
Because I had that happen 2 times, and I had to relog in before I could play again.
It seemed like I was disconnected
But is impossible, Im on cable.

Me is really distressed about the first time, because I had the flag, and transported it the entire way to 1 and couldnt dock :(

Renegade, thats a massive block of lag, i have gotten that 5 times before, and i too am on cable. It seems everyone stops chatting, you can't chat, or dock, or warp. I hate it.
The Internet is a very inconsistant place.
BTW, I fixed the station stutter bug and it will be in the next release.

You can't die either, SL. I've tried /explode. Rene, check the modem. I got disconnected a couple times yesterday. It turned out that the thing was overheating, and sticking a fan right next to it fixed it. :D
What about the bug where it occasionally spits you out of a station without controls? To fix it, you have to get the console and type /quit to get control back?
that still happens?
Hopped out of the station tonight after updating, and got a HUGE fireball, tons of mines, explosion sounds etc for ten or 15 secs, then it all went away.
Hours or so later after coming out of a wormhole starting flipping in the air cockpit over tail. Adding speed made it do loops. Turns out I was somehow switched to keyboard/joystick, except I KNOW I didn't hit any keys.

I'm still having the same problem. Yesterday i have to disconnet and reconnect several times because of this "stutter bug". I'm helping myself by doing this _before_ i leave station - otherwise it can be "deadly" ... ;)
There is another bug, which i "fix" by disconnet/reconnect: Sometimes when you dock in station, you aren't able to repair or sell cargo. I haven't checked, if this bug is described in another post, if my comment now is a double-post - sorry for that.
Btw. my config:
AMD 1800+@2000+, 512 MB DDR-Ram, Nvidia GF4 MX 440 SE, Win2k, connection via DSL
Have a nice day

Yep, that still happens on my system.
can't tell if you guys mentioned it or not... but it still occurs in 3.2.9...
well POOPIE.
Does you have to sit in the station longer before it starts to stutter than before? Do you notice if some sectors' stations are more apt to generating stutter than others? If so, which ones?
