I had the problem with the asteroids floating on top of the fog in .11, everyone had it in .12, and now I still have it in .12.1. Same issue as before. If I set rglow=0 before entering a storm it looks fine. If I set rglow=1 while in the storm, the 'roids suddenly appear.
This is on an AMD64 Linux system with a GeForce 7900 GTX using 97.46 drivers.

I held off chiming in until an update...
Same thing here on my (new! =D) system running ArchLinux with a GeForce 7900GS and drivers 9631. It was also bugged on my old 6600GT.

Add a notch for another Linux user here.
Linux-only problem?
Linux-only problem?
hmm. ok. maybe it's a glow problem.
Yeah I get this too, gentoo linux nvidia .9631 drivers.
AMD64 + 768MB ram + geforce 6500 + 256MB video mem
turning off glow effects seems to fix the fog as long as you switch it off before entering the fog sector.

Bumpy!
Still a problem in .13

Confirm on .13, Gentoo Linux ~x86, GF 6600GT 128 MB, drivers 9746.
I keep the rglow active (no noticeable performance hit), so I have the fancy effects AND avoid ramming into storm roids! :)

Can someone please post a screenshot?
hmm. anyone with a non-geforce card having this problem?
yes .. I said so in the thread in general too. :P
I got a radeon 9550

Still looks like it did in <= 1.13
SM 1.4 mode doesn't seem to work anymore though. I don't get any shader effects at all if I pick that option.

1.7.14.1
Still fogbork, but I guess no attempt at fixing it was made this time around?
Bugs like this have a nasty way of getting entrenched and very hard to solve, so the best of luck to you!

Only in Linux? I can't reproduce the problem in Windows.
I haven't tried it in Windows yet. If I ever get my Windows install to work again I'll try it and let you know.
The problem occurs here in Linux as well...
nvidia geforce 7800 GT using the 9746 nvidia drivers, x.org 7.1 and openbox (with 4xFSAA and 8xANISO). rglow on.

I don't have a windowsbox with a GeForce card in it. Results from my Win32-box, with it's Matrox Millennium G200, might be inconclusive :P
I have the problem too
Linux, GeForce Go 6800, Driver version 1.0-8776

I'm using a nVidia 6600GT, driver version 1.0-8776, running Ubuntu with the stock 2.6.15-27-386 kernel.
I don't have the problem, if it's any help with debugging.
