Hi, I can't log in. I type in my name and password and it gets stuck on "connecting". I can log in under my boyfriends name, accept the EULA and everything, just not under mine :(
You were pretty clear with this, but to clarify:
You are using the same computer as your boyfriend, right?
If you are using Windows (or your OS supports multiple user logins) you are using the same Windows (or whatever) login as your boyfriend, yes?
Is there any message after "connecting" (like "Connection failed / Login incorrect")?

I'll check the server log...
It looks like you are successfully logging in and then logging out a few seconds later. There was one where you logged out a minute after logging in.

It just stops at "Connecting" Me and the boyfriend are on the same computer but two separate accounts. Even while I logged in under his name, I kept getting frozen, well not frozen but things just stopped, but still made noise, if that makes any sense. I'll try again and see what happens
Do you have separate logins for the computer (i.e. individual desktop settings and so forth) or Vendetta accounts?
just seperate vendetta accounts
Hmmm...okay I'm stumped that there would be a difference between you and your boyfriend logging in, given the same computer with the same permission, settings, and software. Also, Ray's showing you getting in, so I start to wonder if there's a video driver issue.
Have either of you EVER been able to log in and actually play? If so, when did you become unable to do so?
In a later post you indicated that your boyfriend's account was also giving you trouble now? Are they both now behaving in the same way? That would be more sane and easier to troubleshoot at this point.

Nope, their both retarted in their own special ways....WEhave been able to play for ages, but it just started acting up with this new update...If I am being able to log in, its not letting me kno. I can't accept the EULA on this account but under the boyfriend (Menendel) its not a prob, pops up immediatly. His is just stopping like after I leave the VO window. I wanna beat my computer now, its being stupid! HELP!!
I'm thinking that if you and Menendel have two separate accounts (rather than each of you having a character on one account) then you have different video settings. Please try again and then post the contents of your "errors" log. It's in your Vendetta folder, if you didn't know already.
This has nothing to do with video settings; it's due to the network changes I made for the last update.
I need to know more about the Internet connection in this case, but I am working on making it detect your MTU size in case your IP stack just drops packets over that size, which it isn't supposed to do but I'm pretty sure that's what's happening. Sometimes it's amazing the Internet works at all, as we discovered with our last HTTP-based updater.

wowza. Were running cable on cox....I hate the internet sometimes
Slapped down!
Who knew network changes would impact accounts on the same computer differently?

I sure as heck didn't...oh btw were still having the problem. Menendel can launch but after a bit gets stuck. Not like frozen, he can still give comands, just cant jump and things of that nature...Odd?

Whistler: neither account really works, so.. the problem is not so different, it just happens earlier when cocomoster logs in.
Does it work okay on the test server? (login with test:cocomonster)
edit: Actually I'm working on the test server tonight to do path MTU discovery; I'll post again when I'm looking for testers. But it may be up and down for a while for debugging.

Ok, here's an update... I had to do a protocol change, so the currently released Vendetta client won't connect to the test server anymore. We're going to push this change out early Friday, which should fix this once and for all. Sorry about the downtime.
Alright, I mentioned this under the general board but am mentioning it again under here since it's getting left behind. Cho and I are still having problems with connections. She can log in now at least but we're both having problems with maintaining the connection. It's pretty much that I still disconnect after a couple minutes and lock up at the loading screen and she does the same now. Very slightly better in that she can log in, but neither of us can really play that much. Kinda upsetting. Just thought I'd let you guys know.
Hmm. Can you describe in more detail what happens?
While warping, you see a loading bar which just kinda gets stuck, and then eventually you get a "connection to server timed out"?
What kind of router are you using?
I'll have to provide some kind of client-side option to work around whatever this is. I don't really understand why the game ever worked if it's not working now; the only difference is that it's using bigger packets, except if you can't receive bigger packets it will start using smaller ones. I saw you were able to receive at least some larger packets while you were online, so there must be some kind of network problem.

We are running a USR router. While warping it freezes on "Loading" and it doesn't time out. It just stops
