in game stock market
I would like to float the idea of an "in game/web based" stock market.
My idea follows:
Trader or corporation sends /msg UIT-STKMRKT and gets a top 10 list of most profitable trade routes and goods. This information can be further modified by level of membership.
The most profitable products and trade routes determined by being above 50th percentile for known trade route profitability.
For example,
Class 1 access reports the lower 30% of most profitable products and routes.
Cost of membership 100,000 C per week
Class 2 access reports the lower 60% of most profitable products and routes.
Cost of membership 150,000 C per week
Class 3 access reports the full list of most profitable products and routes.
Cost of membership 250,000 C per week
I think importance of an in game commodity/ stock market would mirror the importance of the real world stock market.
If you understand the strategic importance of a stock market and having access to the information it contains, let’s talk.
If you don't, then let’s talk.

I don't really think this is a stock market but more a sort of 'guide to very good trade routes'
Some time ago I was running a stock market that was sort of like this:
You could buy stocks, you could sell stocks.
Basicly: If someone bought stocks, the value of the stocks went up; if someone sold stock, the value went down. It wasn't a bot or in-game feature so it got very very boring and slightly stressing after a while.
Nevertheless, your idea could add an interesting aspect (some might find it boring though), when you get to a station, you look up the best route from there and fly it.

Hell, the cargo market is a stock market in it's own sense. If only the devs would make it more complicated...
yup. stockmarket is already in place. a nice feature would be a trader's market netaccess: in-flight or at a station you can look up the goods-prices at certain stations. this way its possible to change course in flight if someone else sold the same cargo at your destination station and the price drops.
You can buy better versions of the "The Trader's market netaccess" (sounds like a microsoft product) when getting higher xp.

a stock market is an organization that enables people to hold and trade shares in joint stock corporations
since there are no corporations in vendetta, let alone 'joint stock corporations', how can you have a stock market
maybe you can have a commodities market. .. . . . .

Well, I would't mind investing in certain traders.
just a simple memory in the ship of the price lasts time you were there would be good - doesn't even need to have up-to-date prices for anything but the local station.
And showing prices for good the station doesn't have that you dont have for sale currently would be good too.
