the colors of ten-thousand things
..now accepting volunteers to photograph NPCs for an eventual color-key to nations and factions; I'd suggest choosing a single system with an ample amount of low-saturation (nearly-white) lighting, and turning backgrounds off; Vultures would probably show color variation best
..maybe this can become a section of the wiki?

I understand that one would be taking piccies, but for what exactly? I'm all for it, otherwise.
I've been assembling a pretty large screenshot-bank (mostly of capital ships), and some of the impetus for this project comes from wading through my backlog saying "okay, green is TPG, but sorta-green is Xang Xi, and sorta blue is Itani, and *really* blue is Biocom, and don't get me started on Aeolus/Axia or UIT/Valent.."
..basically, I'm wondering who else is interested in the aesthetics of ship-painting, or wants to learn to identify nationality without relying on radar..
assuming we get a good collection of different pics, maybe we could create a section on the wiki??

Or... you could just ASK Incarnate what the RGB color values are for the different factions.
The colors of the ships also depend on if you're using shaders as well. A ship that is a bright sky-blue color with shaders off might be a tad bit darker with them on.
ask. seriously. and if you get the pallette value for it, you can screenshot it in the station menu.
aww, but that's no FUN...
The problem you are going to run into is reflected colour from the suns/nebulae. Most sectors don't show the true colour of ships due to the suns being, oh, say, red. Which in turn alters oh, say, a yellow ship.
Good luck!
