I just got back ingame last night. I'm waiting until my issues with my ISP are fixed before I do any more work. And yeah, I'm probably going go start looking for people to help with the actual capturing and storyline, etc etc bla bla.

heres a (bad) idea for the plot, storyline, whatever!

movie showing the progression from noob to uber pvp player!

That's not a bad idea. I really have NO creative talent whatsoever, so if anyone gets bored, post a script or storyboard here.

Okay, since ya asked, hows about dis:
Kind of like COPS, but you are following around a pirate. You start up with just a screen of a ship leaving a station, but the voiceover introduces a pirate. The pirate talks a bit about the life of a pirate and then meets up with his pirate partner-in-crime to do some pirating.
Obviously, the events would be staged, but you would show pirates working in tandem in order to bring down a 'moth, comically trying to figure out how to sell all the cargo when all they have are Rev C's to store the stuff in. Then some [IA] guys come in and heroically blow up the pirates. Lotsa explosions and shooting and stuff.
The [IA] pilots warp off into the sunset with the pirate wreckage behind them.

Out of curiosity, what program do you guys use to record? And is it downloadable or does it have to be purchased?

Ya, me wonders too. I mean, if the Screenshots take as long as they do to snap, then how can you make a movie at all?
May 23, 2005 who? me? link
someone once said of snaps pro from ambrosia or summthin like so and they made a movie.

Correct. On the Mac side, Snapz Pro X is the tool of choice. On the Windows side, it's FRAPS. Both are shareware.

Ive been thinking of incorporating some footage from other trailers into the video im putting together. Of couse i'd like to get permission before I do so, so Lebermac, Yoda, CrippledPidgeon, Fnugget, if you could post back whether its all right for me to use a bit of your footage here and there i'd be grateful.

Thanks

EDIT: nvrmind, i got enough footage

Does anyone know of a Linux video capture program that would work for capturing Vendetta gameplay? xvidcap won't capture OpenGL, so it's no good, but I haven't been able to find anything else.

MOVIE IS DONE. Just looking for someone to host it now, i sent an email to the current movieclub site, hopefully it will be up there soon.
Jun 06, 2005 LeberMac link
Oh, Sorry Ghost use whatever you need of mine. (I hadn't looked at this thread for a while, apologies.) In fact I have other shots as well that could be incorporated that I have not done anything with yet.

V'Shjarr (sp?) hosts stuff, is he still around anywhere?
Jun 06, 2005 Ghost link
I dont know, I sent him an e-mail but no reply yet. Not sure where I'm gonna put it up if he's not around anymore. Anyone available to host it just in case?
Jun 07, 2005 LeberMac link
Hehe I think I still have the ftp login for V'Shjarr's site area.
I will try it tonight.
Jun 07, 2005 Ghost link
yeah, i tried FTP with him but i have no idea if i did it right. I'm an FTP virgin and it hasn't shown up yet where he said it would. Not sure if i did something wrong or if it just takes time.
