Questions: For Everyone (and Devs)
Long time no see, GS! John... Waylon... Andy... Ray...

...and everyone else I know from the testing days!
=D
I've recently been considering rejoining the Vendetta universe. However, I've got a few questions I'd like to ask before making such a commitment.
At present, I'm not financially able to have the luxury of playing Vendetta Online. However, I remember one of the devs saying that the alpha/beta testers who donated money will get free trial time with the money that was donated. If that time for me has expired that's okay. I never really expected anything back, since that is after all what a donation is. But if it's one of those added perks that is offered to some of the previous testers, I'd be more than happy to continue "testing" the game with this generous offer.
=b
My next question involves billing. Is the money we pay based on the hours of play time we get? Or is it on a use-it-or-lose-it policy where your unused hours don't get carried over from month to month? I know a lot of people get busy with jobs, schools, etc. from time to time and they won't be able to play 24/7 for the entire month to make the most of their payment. That's why I was wondering whether something like that is currently offered.
My last question involves messageboard access. It'll certainly be a few months before I will be able to pay for my account and get a chance to play. So I was wondering if forum access will eventually be limited to paying customers only, or whether it will always be open to outsiders. The reason I ask is because I'd like to continue keeping track of Vendetta's development. I want to see what's new and cool so I can decide when to start playing once I am able to pay. I know that sounds sort of selfish, but I just don't have the money to burn during a time period where some things will be unbalanced and unfun.
And I have to be honest, I normally don't support pay-to-play games. I still feel a little uneasy paying $200+ in a year for any game, really. But I've been looking into what's available on the Mac platform as far as future games go, and I gotta say I'm really not that excited. Most of them are crappy games with steep system requirements. Vendetta Online runs under reasonable system requirements, is cross platform, has a massive persistent world, and is pretty damned fun to play. So rather than pay $50 for a couple of crappy future games (which would probably total $200 anyway), I figured it would be better to stick and focus on one cool game that is constantly updated.
Anyway, that's all I have for now. Hello to everyone I know, and hello to the newbs I've never even seen yet. I hope to fight alongside you and help you destroy those Itani Valk jocks in the near future!

Actually, it's only $129.99 a year. :D
Or as low as $79.92 a year if you buy two years at a time. For those of you who happen to stumble upon $159.99.
no, youre supposed to destroy the serco prom. jocks silly!
Yeah, even I can afford it, and I dont have a job.
i remember the name, but not much else. welcome back anyway! you've missed quite a bit as the valk is not as threatening as it used to be. the prom on the other hand has finally became useful! take that itani nation!!!
hope to see you in game. and so long as we are on the subject, weren't beta and alpha testers supposed to get a cool varient or new ship to go along with those nifty badges? not that i care, the badge is cool enough :)

How about $119.88 a year Roguelazer? And to think you're my leader!
oh no! Ti's rolly! ; )
as for the billing, you pay for access during a month, not for hours of access, so basically, you can pay for unlimited access during 30 days :)

I get the feeling more faces from the past will show up as Vendetta evolves :P
Good to see you back, Arolte. But bear in mind you can't L-mine stations any more. :P

Get your butt back in here, lamer... Going after Itani's Convoys and defending Serco Convoys is worth the price of admission.
The killing is gravy!

Thanks, guys! Although I'm still wondering about one thing--I have zero play time available on my account. So I'm guessing the free trial is also on a lose-it-or-use-it basis as well. Oh well, I have much work to do anyway before spring graduation.
Btw, I just finished watching an anime called Last Exile, and when Alex Row was first mentioned I immediately remembered the pesky little Valk jock from Itani nation who exploited the experience points of the first mission system. Damn you for giving such a cool character a bad image in my head, Alex Rowe! Heheheh...
=D
PS: Lord Dio rules. His freakiness and funny voice cracks me up. Too bad about the ending...
PPS: Fweeeeee!

the hornets are pretty much useless now. I can't seem to get anything out of it (except transporting weapons).
