Now that we have two million n00bs, time to put all of your collective CPUs to use. First, download the F@H client from here:

http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html

Then install and set it to use team 12810 and the nick of your choice... Then view your stats here:

http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=12810

PS: Don't be discouraged, even if you get a project which is estimated for 51 days, like I did. It's still fun to watch. :P

Didn't Phoenix post something about this a few months ago?

Indeed but it never hurts to refresh the idea for new people.

*bump* take the screensaver if nothing else, its nice =D
Nov 18, 2004 roguelazer link
The screensaver crashes Windows when it itself crashes, though. At least, it does on XP SP2 here. It crashes whenever my machine tries to auto-hibernate.

Actually I'm married to Ray. But I'll give you partial credit for knowing I'm married to a dev. And, yes, our comupter at home also does folding.

soy bomb pwns this team, watch as I continue to rise thru the top 10 with my lone single processor. 9th place with only 69 (dude...) units! Foolish proteins, j00 will suffer my wrath!
Nov 19, 2004 yodaofborg link
Running the client on 1 machine home (linux) and the screensaver on two machines (uhum, its nice) Both Windows XP Pro (Breakage Pack 2)

I dont know what you mean by crashes, but the machine I have installed the client on still has not finished 1 WU. heh

Man, screw you scientists.. Your just gonna make another bomb, or something that'll give us all cancer.

Seriously, when was the last time you einsteins invented something useful? Or cured anything? Bugger off my runtime.

Hoax: Maybe you can explain the scoring to me... Why are your 70 units worth more than somebody else's 200 units?
Nov 20, 2004 Tyrdium link
Aren't units assigned different scores based on how hard they are?

Edit: Athlon64 3000+ machine now folding.
Nov 21, 2004 Hoax link
Yeah, as I understand it, the harder your unit the more its worth (hehe, hard unit .. heh, heh, ok anyway). I run folding on a fairly fast single processor machine with like 4 gigs of ram so it tends to get bigger units.
Nov 22, 2004 yodaofborg link
Right, I have three machines pounding away at this, the two that are connected through a HW firewall work fine (as I set the network up, and its a nice screensaver, heh) - but the client at home (just a box I stuck in the corner with the client on) refuses to upload its completed work units. I think its only done one in three weeks, and regardless of it being a p4(recently upgarded from a celeron, eugh) 1.7 it has 1 gig of ram, and i dont want to lose my unit (heh)... ...Any Ideas? Win XP breakage pack 1

[Edit]

I still cant get my unit up. heh

I dunno. F@H can even get through my fscked up iptables rules...
