Do we need a better Forum?
Personaly, I think this forum is (technically) quite limited.
In many other forums, you have:
* listing of threads you posted in (with link to "new posts since last login") + subscribe to threads
* search for title, author, body ... (yes, the fulltext-search done here is a GoodThing(tm) :)
So... I don't actually know if this forum is suposed to live longer than release... but maybe I only missed that tiny little link that makes the above features possible?
Or, would it be too hard to move to another forum?
Are there great problems for hardware requirements and/or site-integration?
Well, I hope you get my point :) and don't take it too harsh ;)
defsy
P.S. What is the timezone of the "Last Post" time displayed?

Hey, cut a1k0n some slack. This whole cgi is written in C.
Wow, didn't know that, respect!
Maybe my posting sounds a bit too demanding, when I was only trying to point out what I think might be important to some users (for an after-release forum). Sorry 'bout that, maybe it's because I'm no native english speaker and so got the wrong expression.
From the posting time I deduct, that it must be GMT-5h so that would be about Toronto-NewYork-Panama, right?
Ingame-play is much more important than forums anyway. cheers
defsy (to get this thread back when searching ;-)

We've had many complaints/suggestions about them. But, lately they've been rather busy with...you know, the whole game issue. You should have seen the webpage a few months ago. On the whole, a LOT less slick.
So they're doing a good job.

Remember when we didn't even have an edit butten? that drove people apeshit
I'd say this is the best forum I've ever used.
Just enough features without the useless bloat all the others have.

I still my my archives... ;_;
There are clear but why not full time and date of when something is posted ?
Once a post is one day old, the day of it gets displayed, once it reaches a week since the post, the date gets added onto it.
Or just simply open a packet of SL freshly baked pies.
Sit on the couch and watch a good pie making movie.....HMMMM!!
Tasty!!

It isn't written in C.
I have some other things I wanna do, like add the search features suggested by the original poster. And let your browser color links based on whether or not you've already read the thread. And let you specify which timezone you want to see stuff in (the time is US Central, by the way -- it's GMT-5 due to daylight savings but that changes at the end of this month).
The date shown is "adaptive" as described by SL. It's something I was playing with; it used to just show a bunch of numbers, and formatting full date/time took up too much space. This way it's easy to tell when, relative to now, a post was made.
