Seriously though, I can understand if someone has scruples to kill innocent people, even if it's only virtual.
I, for my part, always avoided killing BoBs in Marathon and civilians in Oni (only to give an example). I am fully aware of the ambiguity of this attitude, but hey, aren't we all hypocrits?

Not suprising.. Rockstar published max payne... So hey, butcher a few game's stories, make a big map, give people a gun and a car, and let them go free. Profit!

Tosh, you are wrong not to kill BoBs. They won't shut up. Plus, one or two little friendly fire incidents and they turn on you like the treacherous little ship born cretins they are. Besides what if you miss an assimilated one? Then what huh?

I follow Toshiro's creed! I try my best not to hurt innocent civies in games. Occasionally if they get in the way, shoot me accidentally, or do something incredibly stupid otherwise, I just cap 'em. Sometimes I like to take Darwinism into my own hands.

As for the GTA series, I've resisted (as hard as it may be) killing innocent civilians when I could during missions. Occasionally I may get road rage and blast stupid drivers, but that's about it. There's really no way of progressing in the game without killing gang members and leaders. Eventually you're going to have to do it. You just can't go around mugging and killing everyone to win.

There's a little bit of irony to the game in that even though you're a criminal, you're still doing your part to clean up the streets by killing off rival gangs. I guess they tried to add a sense of personal justice to it just to make the player feel good about himself and his actions, while looking like a badass gangsta at the same time.

Vendetta doesn't have innocent civies. Over 98% of "newbies" or traders simply trade to get money in order to get better ships and weapons. I like to think of my pirating as attacking rival nations' supply lines and preventing them from strengthening their armies. Another thing I used to do was steal from rich Itani traders and disperse credits to poor Serco newbies before logging off. Good stuff!
