I get out of 3 finals for good grades

At my High School if you have an A or no missing assignments then you get out of the final in most classes.

go Pyroman_Ace... smarty. But I'm in those shoes too. If we get good scores on our state testing (in Kentucky, they call it the K.A.T.S. test for Kentucky Accountability Testing System. It should be called T.U.C.F.K. for Totally Useless Crap For Kids, but that's just me) we get exemptions from exams next year.

at my high school, if you've gotten A+ all the time and are an honor grad, you don't have to take your finals at the end of your senior year. (that doesn't mean you don't have to take advanced placement test though! muahaha...)

I wish I could promise all of you that it gets better when you get out of high school. But college is mostly more of the same, only with more reading and writing. Then you get out there to your first job and find out its more of the same. Life is basically high school over and over till you die. Good luck!

Blah! I disagree. Once you leave highschool you realize that life is much bigger than you had ever imagined. You are no longer packed together with people your own age who live within x-miles of your school. Your world expands, you get to make decisions for yourself, and if a job is horrible you are free to up and get a new one. You meet new people, lose track of old acquaintances, and can reinvent yourself.

Yeah, really. I can't wait for college, since it means I'll be able to take computer and engineering courses, and not have to take things like history... Besides, I'd much rather be working than be in high school. In high school, there's a whole bunch of uncertainty, since there's tests and stuff to worry about. In a job, it tends to be the same thing from day to day...

my summer is going to run me over. but I'm going to have fun... everything up till now (k-12) has been predictable and slightly boring, but college is going to be different. *g*

I agree FM. You have the power to do and be those things. I just don't want younger players to be lulled into the sense that just because they may change, the behavior of the people around them will. If you want things to be different, if you want to be different, you make it happen. :-)

primary school -> college -> university/high school/work/suicide

basisschool -> middelbareschool -> universiteit/hoge school/werk/zelfmoord


*You have 4 different levels in college (which are also all divided into different levels, but that's not important now); depending on how well you work, how smart you are, what your blood type is, etc etc.

In case you are retarded or very instable.

*VMBO-basis (Voortgezet Middelbaar Beroeps Onderwijs Basis) - lowest
(4 years, you can like.. work and do some really low level high school after this - like cleaning, and administrative etc)

*VMBO-breed (Voortgezet Middelbaar Beroeps Onderwijs Breed) -
normal
This is where most people go to. 4 years, and you can do a bit more than with VMBO-basis

*HAVO (Hoger Algemeen Voortgezet Onderwijs)
high
This is the 2nd largest group, this takes 5 years; and you can go to high school after this one. (or anything lower)

*VWO (Voortgezet Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs) - highest
highest
This one takes 6 years, and you can study almost everything after this one (for some studies you must have taken a specific sub-level in this; for example: Nature & Technology or something).

Long story short, I could in theory just go to just about every university right after school without taking any test whatsoever. (This whole school-system thingy here is so complicated that almost nobody really knows how it actually works - so maybe I'm technically doing high school; but it's called "universiteit" which means "university")

HAHA! I'm done! One more year of high school then hello 4 or 5 more years to get my engineering degree. This summer's kinda gonna suck, though. All my friends are going to be at the shore all summer, and I'm working a boring job at University of Pennsylvania. On the plus side, I also might work part time in an auto garage. Kickass!
