Feh, the GeForce 6800's fan takes up 2 PCI slots... I'd take the Radeon X800 any day... Oh, and I'm even further behind! My desktop has a TNT2! :D

Look, I know it *could* work with a new fan; however if it doesn't I'm screwed.

it _will_ work with a new fan. If the thing still boots, and only locks due to overheating, it's fine.

If you do decide to replace it however, would you ship it to me? I'll send you postage...

I'll first wait too see what happens with it when my parents get the new card. It isn't really "my card" but more like "my parents' card". But first they have to go and get me "my Radeon"! Altough I can remember that my dad wasn't soo glad with this card because it locked up under Windows all the time (really, it was the card; when he swapped with my old GF2MX it worked fine).

I don't understand how a GF3 w/o a fan will overheat.

You must have REALLY crappy airflow* in your case.

Cheap Solutions:

-Stick an old CPU fan on it
-Leave your case open
-Buy a cheap fan
-Buy a replacement Heatsink and fan built for the GF3
--EX
----Vantec Iceburq
----Thermaltake Blue Orb
----VGA Silecer
----Zalman passive coolers
ect..

Just get another fan and stick it on there.

*You probably have none at all.

Well, after seeing all those drewly cool rglow screenies... I WANT THAT!!! ARGGHH!!!

Heh, you can get glow if you play Vendetta in Windows with the gf3. (I think)

But that would require installing Windows... /me pictures Windows ruining his carefully setup system.

As stupid as those "Trios" drive switcher things are, I think they'd accomodate your sitation quite well..

I don't want rglow *that* badly.
