I cant stop extruding plastic - filarephilia support thread.
I got my hands on one of these blasted things after putting it off for more than a decade... Why didn't I do this earlier I don't know.
Haven't been logging in much and right now I've entered the "i'm going to 3d print rc aircraft to save money" stage of the 3d printing disease.
Haven't loaded up the LW-PLA yet but printing frames on rolling papers gets ya halfway there... check out my first flying 225mg glider prototype out of the printer today:
~600:1 P3 orion for scale... didn't have a banana.
Couple more photos in the album too busy extruding bother with a proper photo montage: https://imgur.com/a/e7r6Z2G

Well tbh if you had gotten into it 10 years ago you might have hated the hobby. Printers back then were nowhere near "Ready to print" out of the box like these Bambus are now. Lotta calibration, moderately steep learning curve, and you always had to fiddle with em to get useable prints. You were always upgrading parts or fighting with the slicers. There wasn't any LW-PLA or ASA or any of the nice filents we have now.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Ender 3 Pro, but Bambu is to the 3D printer hobby as DJi was to the drone hobby.
Still a great hobby. If I ever get it together I want to print one of these: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2581875-carbon-apogee-evo-3d-printed-carbon-nylon-dlg#profileId-2847673

Yeah I almost got a reprap kit at one point glad I waited, the resolution this thing can pull off is mindblowing not to mention the black magic voodoo that goes into printing overhangs.
That's a freaking beautiful glider; thanks for the link!

I sent you a pic Spidey (cause I dont know how to post it here). Some of those mechs were printed at .06mm layer height. Super-fine, and pretty slow. Took anywhere from 7-10 hours each at that layer height, but they look so smooth for FDM!
When your not in a hurry you can almost make em look close to resin prints (I still want a SLA printer...)
