If the Democrats hadn't been doing shady bullshit in the first place, they wouldn't have been vulnerable to hackers leaking the sordid details. You reap what you sow.
Contrast to Trump, who wasn't playing the holier than thou card Clinton was so fond of. When it was "revealed' that he was a complete asshole, it didn't really impact him. His being an asshole was part of what people liked about him. The conservatives were really sick and tired of political correctness and SJWs, so Trump being an asshole read to them as him being a real person who isn't going to take any shit from the libtards.
Trump's also really good at looking like an idiot, which is of course a big advantage in rallying the common folk. When you're an imbecile, smart sane people look like snooty, bossy elitists to you, and the raving lunatics seem relateable. (Not to imply that liberals are necessarily smart or sane, but that's the image the more serious ones usually try to convey.) Bush played the same game with a lot of success.
No, I wouldn't say that Trump is mostly luck. He did have the good fortune to be born with a functional brain, and the very good fortune to be born into a wealthy enough family to bootstrap his career, but that's not enough to explain the fuckton of money and success he's had without factoring a good amount of skill and cunning. You can call him incompetent all you want, but a fool and his money are soon parted -- the opposite of what has happened with Trump. And the other wealthy people out there are very good at parting fools from money, remember. Thus their wealth. Trump is not an idiot. He just plays one on TV.
@Mi5: Oh sure, they definitely rig the system. But that's largely the work of random opportunists. People get in positions of power and then use that power to stack the deck as a matter of course. Especially families who might want their Juniors to carry the torch. That's not the same as a global organized effort at world domination. It's a bunch of independent and often mutually exclusive agendas that all just happen to have some similar thrusts.

I take it mi5 hadn't read Trump's tweets. Everything you need to know about Trump's actual intellectual level is in them, straight from his mind.

"A fool and his money are soon parted" is just a saying, not some kind of scientific truth. There is some element of truth to it, just not necessarily true in every single case.
Pizza, there are different kinds of intelligence. Trump might be fine financially. How about academically, socially, or even emotionally?
If you haven't read Fire and Fury, make sure that you do before you make another analysis of Trump.

Yes, it's too easy to just say "Trump is stupid." He is fact brilliant in several important ways, and this is how he has compensated for the other ways in which he is incredibly stupid. People (Trumps supporters, mostly) unfortunately attribute high moral value to the successes Trump has had where in fact, Trump is morally bankrupt in almost every way. I personally think Trump's epic salesmanship (perhaps his greatest skill) is eclipsed by the even more epic ignorance possessed by too many American people. The fact that SO MANY are SO EASILY hoodwinked, manipulated with the slightest ease to ignore all the enormous red flags Trump's words and actions have been waving over many years, is the far bigger concern.
Too many Americans have become lazy and ignorant, squandering the liberties their forefathers earned with their blood while they eat their junkfood and shoot their guns at each other, while they worship Jesus on Sunday and then act against his teachings the other 6 days of the week, while they place greater importance on market speculation than childcare and education, and while they shame and discriminate against those with different colored skin.
Hanks/Johnson 2020!

^--- what he said. Except I'm less pessimistic about it. For all that people are lazy, ignorant fuckwits, society is continuing to improve. Maybe a few steps back here and there, but on the whole, stuff keeps getting better.
Have either of you read Fire and Fury? A simple yes or no.
Define "read".
Having purchased the book or downloaded it, and read at least half of it if not cover to cover yet.
You're doing yourself a disservice by not reading it if you haven't.

Yes, it was a complete propaganda and hit piece trying to masquerade as "historically accurate"
Folks that's why you should read it. The alt right doesn't want you to read it.
Why would I pay for a book about why I shouldn't like Trump when I already don't like Trump? If I wanted to spend my time masturbating, there are cheaper and more pleasant options readily available.
You don't have to buy it. There's free PDF downloads floating around on the internet. I could post a link but I won't out of fear for Whistler's ban hammer.
Has that fear held you back before?
You are getting rather fixated on me. Are we becoming Joyleenwall again?

So, Mi5... what do you say to this?
lol.
you guys make for a good show!

Between the recent crypto "market volatility," Bannon's job change and Jeff Flake's (R-Arizona) kind advice for the Leader Of The Free World, I'm guessing Mi5 won't respond to the golfing thing due to actually for real being dead now.
Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing if the "girther" conspiracy theory is a conspiracy theory too far for Mi5, or if he'll sign up for anything that can be spun as a government coverup.

Yeah it's unfortunate that Trump and Bannon broke up. They were such a cute couple.
Inevitable, I don't think the cartoonist meant to imply that all homosexuals are as abhorrent as Trump and Bannon.
