I just noticed Vendetta on the iOS App Store and waves of nostalgia washed over me.

First of all, Wow I can't believe that not only is my account is still active but I could even remember the username and password! It's like the phone number for your childhood best friend.

Second of all, is anyone still around from the old days? The slashnet.org IRC channel seems dead, but I dimly remember some names: Asp, Aeternalis, Ku, tishman, Lin, RogueLazer, Toshiro, Phaserlight, Spence, Lemming, Eldrad, FireMage, Sarah Anne, Icarus, Phoenix. . .

Incarnate and ray are the only ones left of the old dev team.

Sadly, only Phaserlight and Spence still play. You should log on and check out all the updates. It's pretty cool what they've got going on recently.

Stations have No Fire Zones around them now and there are faction standings that will be impacted but you can still expect to die a fair bit. Things are pretty safe in the beginning, though...

Well I almost joined in alpha cause that's when slime showed it to me then closed beta happened and I was bummed out, then i subbed and this happened: 179 days, 10:46:28 with like a good 10% of that spent idling in station working on skins'n'shit, most of the time it was pwnin' newbs tho. (which is still the best part of the game even will all our fancy grind-ey stuff)

Really wish the PVP mechanics/netcode stuff for low latency players would get some more polish eventually... hell I'd pay a bitcoin for it if I had one :P

That 5000 hours is mainly the game including all Spidey's artificial lag in its time computation.
