Nice.
I remember from a Voice chat with you a long while ago of you saying something about the army.

@neon
If you need beekeeping advice for your farm, Ronnie can give you a college level lecture in about an hour. I was ready to buy bees.

Tis why I haven't been on VO much lately. I'm getting serious with it. I need a new board too, as my old one is soooo effed from my abuse...

Yup...
Rule 1 of the Internet: Pics or it didn't happen.
Rule 2 of the Internet: Pics are clearly photo-shopped.

OK, give me a bit then.
I somehow knew someone would say that...
What long toes you have! The foot to toe ratio is so unreal. Definitely photoshopped.
Well, I look after a lot of animals I guess, 2 rabbits, a cat, some koi and sturgeon, a pigeon(that recently got set free after recovery from its injury) and a Musk Turtle.
I like to dance.
I've trained and fought in four different martial styles for over twenty-one years and even though it's a personal passion and I've become proficient at it, generally speaking, I'm tired of rolling with the punches. I wanted something that was still social, but less adversarial and more cooperative, an activity I could share with people, other than trading punches with them.
Over the past three years I've become a swing dance instructor (Lindy Hop and East Coast style) and compete at a local level with several partners. I found out about it through an acquaintance and fellow grad-student, who kept gently pushing everyone they knew to participate in the Lindy Hop club funded through the local university.
"Come out! have fun! It's easy and you don't even need a partner!" and so on and so forth. Eventually while looking for a cheap, fun date night, I went out to it with a girlfriend. She was lukewarm with it at best. I immediately took to it, and she eventually fell to the wayside, much like the rest of our relationship. Unknown to either (or any!) of us at that time, I met my future wife that night.
It's a great way to meet a certain sub-culture of people. Having danced (almost literally) across Eastern Canada I've met a lot of (mostly) young, intelligent, adventurous, (not to mention skilled and beautiful!) people from around the world. That said, it runs the entire gamut, from dancing with 93 year old WWII vets to kids as young as thirteen who just want to have a shot at something new, every night out there brings something different.
What was first a peripheral past-time turned into a solid hobby, bordering on obsession that is now a side-gig. My classmates, instructors and I instantly gelled and all of us began socializing outside of dancing. Just this past month my instructor and I, as well as a mutual electrician friend of ours are remodeling the second floor of his house. We're about to initiate a small side-business teaching Swing to the larger community that's launching next week. Through learning how to dance, we've formed a tight-knit group that's been through both ups and downs together: break-ups, deaths, births, engagements... I'm happy to say I've made some lifelong friends.
I finished my MA in Mass Communication Theory and quit the radio industry. I'm working on a doctorate related to Epistemological substrates and how that effects academia as well as the world holistically... so pretty boring stuff. When I'm not doing that, Neon said it best: I like to read, play music, do nothing, play videogames, eat, sleep, bang - normal things. I'm really quite lazy and frugal but I seem to keep myself busy enough to maintain a comfortable reality, inside and out.
Oh, also procrastination is another favourite activity. Hence why I spend way too much time in VO for several weeks at a time.
