Does eveyone else see the little thumbnail of what looks like the windows xp desktop?

You have to make sure you have the correct URL, especially if you're using imgur. The site provides you all the different formats of the link depending on what system you're using, including BB Code. I believe the URL you want is i.imgur.com/image_address

it's "url" not "link"
e.g. :
[ url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz2XTHWi2Ws]link[/ url]
becomes link when you remove the extra spaces
