CPU: i7-970 @ 3.2Ghz (3.5 turbo)
GPU: GTX 970 4GB, manufacturer overclocked
RAM: 12GB DDR3 1333MHz
2x 500GB 7200RPM HDDs (RAID 0)
1x 1TB 7200RPM HDD
1000W PSU (not sure the brand)
Watercooled
21.5" 1920x1080 Monitor
Old (2011?) gaming rig, with a GPU upgrade.
CPU: i7-5500U @ 2.4GHz (3.0 turbo)
GPU: GTX 950M 2GB
RAM: 12GB DDR3L 1600MHz
1x 256GB M2 SSD
1x 525GB Crucial MX300 SSD
15.6" 1920x1080
2 kg (4.4 lbs)
Newer general use laptop, ASUS K501LX. Love this thing, best of everything for a very affordable price. Ubuntu on the SSD and Win10 on the M2.
CPU: AMD Phenom 9500 X4 @ 2.2GHz
GPU: Not sure, but I think it's an ATI Radeon HD 3470. Hard to tell, it's a generic Dell-get out of some random Optiplex and I don't know what OEM it came from, PN is useless. 256MB, dual DVI.
RAM: 3GB PC2-5300U (555)
No storage yet, got two 160GB 5400RPM HDDs to install once I find some mounting brackets
19-in-1 super reader thinger, plus a floppy drive. Woot!
19" 1024x768 old Dell flatscreen (in progress)
This is George. We found him doing inventory and my boss said take him home. Poor guy had been stripped of his hard drive, cables, and video card and left to rot. Brand new, never used Gateway 5662. Gonna throw a lightweight linux distro on it until some purpose reveals itself. So far it's cost all of $0 so that's cool, been replacing things with old spares and donations from the aforementioned boss.

I'll fight yodaofborg's machine ;)
2 x Intel Xeon E5 2670's @ 2.6GHz (8 cores each with HT) - 3.3GHz Boost Clock, it actually holds this in games
96 GB DDR3 1333MHz
2 x Samsung Evo 850, 240GB RAID 0
4 x 2TB SATA 3 Drives (no RAID)
1 x 800w PSU, 90% Efficient
1 x NVIDIA GTX 1080
I'm with yoda, though. This was mostly for fun, and built to fly through Adobe Lightroom. RAM usage? Heh, never really get much past 13-14GB. Sitting at my desktop right now with LR open, I'm at 12GB, if I launch a game, it'll chew another 2GB.

Few tweaks...now it's Rampage V Extreme/i7 6850k @ 4.4GHz/1080Ti FTW/16Gb HyperX Predator 3000/AX860i/960 EVO M.2 500Gb & 3Tb HDD/ROG Swift IPS curved 34" 1440p @ 100Hz
Tried to stuff an AX1500i into the Maingear Shift and it just wouldn't fit...might be able to squeeze a 1200 in if I go dual 1080TIs later.
Spidey, are you running 3 sticks of 8BG RAM?

2*4 + 2*8 gibbers of mushkin blackline

Managed to make 7 flawless memtest passes overnight so i guess its not my problem /me is starting to suspect his non vesa compliant miniDP>DP cable for all his strange computer woes.
also the couple of R280x's are surprisinly decent granted the game is half decently optimized for the most part I can get away with running games native at 1440p granted I forgo stuff like HBAO/DoF
for the most part i play counterstrike GO and vo so just a single card is plenty to make the 144hz screen well worth it

To be fair I shoved a single RX460 into a system to replace a dated HD4890, and was quite surprised at how well those cards perform (It takes the HD4890 to the park, walks its dogs and then kicks its ass, to be honest). Buck for buck you are getting a lot more in a GPU these days, even if everything else seems to have slowed down. I mean, it was just a temporary fix and it will be getting replaced but you can do quite a lot on a budget card these days.
Update - very soon, this will be my completed specs. i7 on its way, arriving this week!

Third generation i7 was released 5 years ago, and the 700 series 4 years ago. Why are you building with dinosaur hardware?
Because its much cheaper than building a new computer from scratch, Jj. Getting a new pc isnt priorty right now.
Looks like a perfectly functional gaming box for dirt cheap. Likely able to push 60fps of 1080 on high detail settings for a lot of stuff, which is good enough.
