The answer to the Library of Babel is Pi.
Pi is infinite. If you convert the numbers to letters, sooner or later the answer to the Library of Babel will be found. You just need a supercomputer that can calculate Pi until a reasonable answer to the Library of Babel is found.
Pi is not infinite. We may not be able to calculate it fully, but it is less than 3.2, therefore NOT infinite.
However, this does not disprove your theory, as to the best of our knowledge, Pi has infinite decimal places...

I wouldn't exactly characterize sink's statement as a "theory".
