Ok so i use a droid for everything i have no comp. When i look at the active players chart i see that theres 3 difderent colors all rising and falling...ok..cool..welllll...how many of them colors are actual players online..weres the side of the grid with the amount of people...one side is time the side is??? Nope, there is no number grid. The chart is there to advise the user as to when there are relatively more players on than at other times. There were numbers at one time, but they seemed to contribute to an endless cycle of "There's only X players on, therefore I will not sign on" behavior. Log in when the graph is high, or just log in when you can and make the stats happen.

Now when the graph is at the low point im gonna mob grey like crazy now! I do understand though. Seeing 8 players on in a game this big could be a short coming. But then again i dont know how many there really is. I do know that there is quite a few pilots that don't EVER use 1 or 100 channels. Thank you for the answer and your time whistler.

Back when we did have counts, it ranged from around 10 at the lowest up to 60 during big events. Usually I'd see 30-40 at around 19:00 EST. That was back in '09 or so. It doesn't feel like it has changed too much since then. I think the playerbase has grown a little. I'd guess 5-10 more online at any given moment. But that's all guesswork. A lot of the new people are on tablets making them less likely to chat as well.

Now, imagine what happens in three years, when freeman has dropped his trolling gimmick and is trying to be helpful to some poor newb that just wants to know how many people play the game at any one time. And in six years? Nine? Who do you think will remember at that point that the basis for this latest guesstament is a long stream of udderly useless "data?"

PS: I would questamentate that about four million people play this game at any one time, give or take a few hundred.
