Infinity is a game, whereas Space Engine is a simulation thingie.

Both Infinity (more accurately, the I-Novae Engine) and Space Engine use procedural generation algorithms to create everything. That's why they look similar; it's because they are.

I can't decide if your comment is poignant and insightful, or blatantly ignorant.

On the one hand, you might be saying that games in which every scrap of content is procedurally generated are all similarly bland and featureless.

On the other hand, you might be saying the equivalent of "all games written in C look the same!"
