Rodina is trying to meld two completely different games. The guy developing it needs to either focus on a walking game or a spaceship game. I have no idea what to think of the "virtual computers" bit though, it could be interesting.
I have no idea what to think of 0x10c.
And I think we all know what I think of Infinity.
/me guesses it would be a good time to point towards Infinity's 2011 retrospective......

Infinity is more focused on developing an engine, rather than a game that can quickly get out there to be played. It's a fantastic engine nonetheless. Rodina is making what a lot of people would love to have: walking around as well as flying. The mechanics are already there and I like the idea for consoles for controlling ship systems. Also, Rodina is focused on getting a game out to be played in a very short amount of time (within 2012). 0x10c is looking like mainly a lua playground, in space. Thought it'd be awesome for a lot of VO guys.
Lua? I didn't read over 0x10c closely but it sounded more like you'd be using assembly.
I just read 0x10c's forums, and it looks like Notch is trying to implement walking. He needs to focus on one type of gameplay rather than trying to tack two completely different games onto one another. The gameplay of one, the other, or both will suffer otherwise.
@tarenty - I'm actually going to agree with you about Infinity, since that's actually IA's (VO has Inc, Ray, etc; Infinity has IA) and Kieth's goal for the time being: finishing the engine to license it for money. That should start changing once the engine is released though, which is supposed to happen this year.

Wow, three top contenders for "funniest games that will never be any good, and most likely will never be playable." Thanks tarenty!
I think the idea with 0x10c is that you'll be a human character controlling your ship with a programmable CPU, rather than controlling the ship directly.

Whoops, apparently I didn't read it well either. He's making the game in Lua.

Pessimist. :p One of them might make it.

From the site: The computer in the game is a fully functioning emulated 16 bit CPU that can be used to control your entire ship, or just to play games on while waiting for a large mining operation to finish.

No, a pessimist would think that any of these abominations have a chance of actually getting off the ground, thereby making the world that much worse to live in.
I have a much higher opinion of humanity.
(Although the little pessimist on my shoulder tells me that the fat swede will use his impressive power of stopping in front of a hurdle and declaring himself the winner of the race to actually put out something people will pay money for. Makes me sad.)

After scrolling through the community in infinity I think those games suffer from "bow to the gods or procedural generation" and with a sense that content will create itself (procedurally) set of on implementing more features and game play than half the games in existence. And someone is surprised they all go under? Not that I don't wish said games to make it
edit: and why would I want a game that has me program a computer to mine a roid using a ship I engineered? people get paid to do that sort of thing, and they hate their jobs.

I've been following Infinity for a while, the other two are just blips on the radar.
Vendetta Online is pretty much the only game I have time for these days.

Miner wars looks pretty interesting, I'm interested.
Shattered Horizon I have on my steam account and it's not bad, pretty neat.
WoSN looks neat.
But where is my EVN 2?

If no one has tried it, I'll let you know something true: FTL is fucking awesome.
Seriously. it's really good.
That is all.

+1 FTL. I could see it being more enjoyable on a more varied scale, but it's still a great game.

You should take a look at Naev. Basically open source EVN. Oh yeah, did I mention that it uses Lua?
