Journeyman Project
I was messing around with Google maps, and they have this feature where you can drag a little orange effigy of a man onto the map. You are then presented with a street view, and you have the ability to look around and move locations. The transitions are smooth, and the quality is photorealistic; It would be a neat Virtual Reality experience with a pair of motion sensing display goggles.
In an odd way, it brought to mind an old game series called the Journeyman Project. I rented the first episode on CD-ROM from a local public library, and played it in a computer lab on Notre Dame campus, where my dad was getting his PhD. This was in the mid 90's of course.
I played the second and third installments as they came out, however none had quite the same impact as the first, despite technological advancements. I was wondering why this type of game fell out of style, and if anyone else had played any of the games from this series.
