Shameless Plug
So I FINALLY got this small application into the Mac OS X App Store after about 6 months of head-bashing, and I figured I'd make it free for the first week so I could get some friends, family, and you lovely people to download (and if you're feeling particularly nice, review) it to give it a little jump-start. ;-) It's a bit sleazy, I know, but some of youguys particularly might actually find it quite useful.
It's a simple program that lets you customize or disable the acceleration on your mouse or trackpad. There's some people that are just plain weird or hopelessly addicted to Windows and dislike high mouse acceleration as a result, but mostly it's useful for games. With acceleration, you can't twitch as accurately because the effect of a movement depends on how quickly you make that movement, but without acceleration, a constant angle on-screen corresponds with a constant distance the mouse must move.
My brother originally had me write it for him for Starcraft where it certainly helps, but I've found it really shines in FPS's where properly applied twitchiness means all the difference in the world. I'm not sure how useful it would actually be for Vendetta given that the limiting factor is the ship's own inertia, but who knows.
Anyway, if you're interested, here's the App Store link: Decelerator

I use windows and have mouse acceleration
Are you telling me that Mac is so retarded that you can't even change the mouse settings without buying 3rd party software? WTF?
Here in penguin-land we can just do "xset m 1 1". :P

Nice! What's the App Store approval process like?
<aussie accent> That's not a shameless plug! This is a shameless plug! </aussie accent>
I could have sworn Mac System 7 had something like this built in... Did they take it out? O_o
I use windows 7 and setpoint driver/software for my G5 with no mouse accel, hella fast and accurate for close range, long range I drop the sensitivity mid battle with the speed buttons.
@Pizzasgood: Yep! :D
@Lecter: Where oh where did you ever find that?!? :D
@slime73: The approval process itself isn't that bad as long as you don't happen to be using an open-source framework that (god forbid) includes PPC binaries or one private API call and Apple doesn't give you any indication as to why they're rejecting it. X-( The really annoying part is jumping through all the technical hoops to get the app bundle and code signing identities and bundle name and etc... Just So (TM), all through the unbelievably imbecilic iTunes Connect web interface.
