Alright, I know we're supposed to hate EVE and everything, but...

This... is a pretty effing epic concept. PS3 players of the upcoming DUST 514 space mercenary mmofps game are in the same universe as EVE players, can be hired and funded by EVE players, can be bombed from orbit by EVE players, and can fucking shoot back.
I guess the downside is that it's PS3 exclusive. But since I probably won't actually play this... is the presence of an EVE on PC vs. DUST 514 on PS3 in-game rivalry actually an upside?

Interesting... maybe we also can sync VO with Quake servers, so we can dock to stations and combat inside it, or in planets?
just joking... but an interesting connection. First I saw it a Loooong time ago, with games M1 Abrams and Gunship... players in both games could interact over network, some from the tanks and the others flying in chopters...

If you mean an upside because it may turn the game against itself thereby driving more Eve players to come over to Vendetta, possibly.
When I heard about the concept a while back it sounded cool but the more I think about it, why would CCP alienate their already established playerbase by generating a parallel world inaccessible except through consoles? That's like saying "Here, we've greatly expanded the gameplay, but in order to experience it you need to go out and spend $300 on a PS3"
In a game (Eve) where the player economy supposedly is everything, how are console users going to feel about being hired out by a PC user? I imagine it will either be like 1984 or having a vague sense that one is in the playground of an unseen bogeyman. I agree it will be interesting to see how this plays out, but I get the feeling CCP may well have taken a red marker and drawn it down their world neatly in half.
