NO!
my hero would never do something like that!
besides, the shadows are far to realistic for that.

(I'd draw you a diagram, but... screw it.)
Thats going in the quote bin!

Heh, I didn't see this thread, or I would have replied earlier.
Nope, they're not fakes. There really was a bat flying around the halls, and I really did take pictures of it. The trick was that I took about thirty pictures, and only posted the best four.
But we'll go point by point. :)
1) The bat's shadow is on the wall beside it because I used a flash. The flash greatly overpowered the ceiling lights.
2) There is a shadow. It's just kind of hard to see, since the stuff on the wall isn't very thick. The bat was far enough away from the wall that the parallax between the camera's lens and flash made the bat's shadow noticably offset. (I'd draw you a diagram, but... screw it.)
3) The bat isn't the only thing with a shadow. It was just much closer to the flash than anything else in the area, so its shadow is more prominent.
4) Err, the shutter speed was 1/60 of a second, but I don't think the flash fired for that long. Anyway, the bat wasn't moving all that fast, he was just sort of gliding along.
5) The bat was about three feet away when I shot most of those pictures. The stuff in the background was seven or eight feet away. Objects that are more than twice as far away as the focal point will be blurred, with just about any lens you use.
Pic3) The bat wasn't anywhere near the floor. And the floor WAS illuminated - that's why you're able to see the shadow.
Pic4) See answer #2. Parallax, man, parallax. If you look close enough, you actually CAN see a little shadow. It's just very close to the brightness of the wood, so it's not that noticable at first glance.
Heh, these are the the same kind of arguments used to refute the "moon hoax" theories. :)

for Walyon? nothing is too realistic for him.
but first, here comes the questions i got looking at pic 1.
1) Lights are usualy on the cellings (no. i cant spell.) of offices. So why is the bat's shadow on the wall right beside it?
2) If the shadow is caused by flash, why is there no shadow on the wall from the stuff that is on the wall?
3) Why is it the bat is the only thing with a shadow?
4) How fast was that film? I mean, damn dude, there should be SOME burring.
5) How come the bat is so well focused on (not blurry at all) yet the stuff in the not so distant background is blurred to the point of illegability?
Pic 3...
Bat near floor. Bat illuminated, floor not.
1) what's up with that?
And from pic 4.
Once again, shadow is odd.
1) Where is the shadowd from the banister thing on teh wall?
WAYLON!! get in here!!!!
