Lecter: Do you know about copyright infringement
Enough to give some basic (non binding) advice? If so please shoot me an email
ruh roh someone got caught torrenting my guess is it was the new lady gaga album
I know enough to discuss it with you - giving legal advice in this context would be a no no. Dr.LecterVO at gmail
Don't worry I don't really need "legal advice," I'm just toying with some new app ideas and am curious about what constitutes infringement

Got it and replied. Take home message: I think you'll eventually face well-funded opposition regardless of the merit of the claims.
is smitters moving in on girls gone wild? Calling it ladies went unbridled?
Smit, you must address to Mr rectel and not to Dr. lecter
all frenchies know the touch rectel for pro states muhahaha

Just remember, I wrote Stinky Britches, and don't even think of using the Chewbacca Defense to try to prove otherwise!

Hey Lecter, another question.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columns_(video_game)
Has been replicated in a number of places:
Free flash game - http://absolutist.com/online/ctetris/
Free Palm game - http://www.pixture.com/drupal/node/68
Would I need to add a lot in addition to the "Drop columns of 3 colored blocks" concept to avoid infringement? [Edit- For a version I would sell]

Same things I said before apply. In it end, it depends, and if you can't afford to fight the issue (you can't), don't bother
Are you why all tetris clones were removed from Android
if not, keep in mind that that happened

Sent you another question...hope you don't mind
No worries - my bill is in the mail.
But you haven't even replied! You expect me to pay you just to hear out my question??
...oh right
...oh right
Can you seriously still get sued for making a game like Tetris?
There are 9000 AND ONE games that are all like game X, Y and Z. Even if a sole game mechanic is taken from another game and it remains the sole game mechanic in your own game, how can it be copyright, or even intellectual infringement? As long as its not Tetris or *-ris, why are there any issues?
First Person Shooters started with Doom (er, right?). Does that mean all games for a certain period after Doom could actually be sued over?

like is a relative term. Since you don't understand any of the intellectual property concepts you just vomited into that little screed, it would be difficult to explain why.
