This is reason to celebrate, for sure.

yea i had more than a few drinks in celebration, though im not really a fan of the republican party neither.

Haha, look at it as a victory for conservatism, not for the Republicans, because I'm not so fond of my party these days either. If it goes in this direction, maybe I won't have to start looking for a new party after 2012. Of course, the world's going to end that year, anyway (George W.'s fault for sure), because neutrinos will suddenly boil water for no apparent reason and yet not barbecue people, so I won't have to worry about politics or anything else at that point.

lol pc, nice.

this country is fubar'd either way, this'll just buy us a bit of time before our dollar has lost all it's value.

I've heard this line from some Republican apologist or another every time a Republican has won an office for the last 4 years or so. I'm getting damn tired of it.

As for your new party, the choice is pretty obvious.

im still registered republican, mostly because it aint worth the effort to stop by and re-register libertarian.
Jan 20, 2010 ladron link
Heh, there is that. I just cut out the extra step and registered libertarian from the beginning.

The best part is that this election was held because back in 2004, Teddy Kennedy had the law changed from a appointment-succession to the current special election succession. He did this in order to keep then-governor Mitt Romney from appointing a Republican. I find it hilarious that Kennedy unwittingly orchestrated a Republican's succession to his own Senate seat.

ladron, I'm sorry you listen to the wrong Republicans. Some of us considered McCain's nomination a death-knell for the party, and would have considered a McCain presidency a major defeat for conservatism, and only tolerable because he wasn't Obama. Certainly Schwarzenegger's victory in California was just transferring power from one incompetent liberal to a slightly less incompetent and much more patriotic liberal, not a victory for conservatism at all. Many of us really are conservatives first and Republicans second. You would do well to learn that and remember it.

Lecter's last post is EXACTLY why I made the original post.

It is delicious in its irony.

I have it on good authority that the supposed "aftershocks" in Haiti were, in fact, just Teddy's corpulent bulk rolling over in his grave.

Best election ever.

"I have it on good authority that the supposed "aftershocks" in Haiti were, in fact, just Teddy's corpulent bulk rolling over in his grave."

Oh man that's funny as hell.

It's unfortunate that both candidates in the two party system are usually 90% the same, often the only difference is the speed at which they screw us over, and the amount of applied lube.
