I thought it was better than most of the more recent Star Trek movies, but I didn't like the Spock/Uhura relationship.

Now thats awesome.
it was good but odd
still not as awesome as robut chicken.
Dude, that was Robot Chicken. My new favorite sketch from them, even better than the "trailer" for "The Diary of Anne Frank" starring Hilary Duff.
Future Spock uses AAPB's!
Dude Spock and Uhura... WTF?!? Although Zoe Saldana is pretty smokin' hot.
BTW I thought the movie was crap. Lots of explosions, little plot or character development. Typical JJ Abrams. Best scene was the whole skydiving thing.

I thought it was fun to watch.
It's just a bit sad that movies in their original language (remember, I'm from the mainland across the pond) are beginning to get scarce here, because of the idiocy of the people.
Dubs usually make me laugh with contempt.
Edit: I finally googled it, and found nothing descriptive linking to AAPB. What is it?

Axia Accelerated Positron Blaster.
Eh, yeah.
Liked the movie (action/acting/etc) hated the story... Come on guys, this is the history of trek, couldn't we have an epic war with the Romulans or Klingons??? Wtf do we need 1 ship (1 mining ship at that) from the future to chase around for an hour when we can have truly EPIC war???
Disappointed with the direction they are going.

Since when have the Star Trek movies had epic wars? It's generally 1 ship vs 1 ship (I'm not saying this is necessarily a good thing :P)
aside from a couple of borg skimishes and ds9 episodes with the dominion... no epic wars :(
but... I was told this movie was "not your father's trek" so I expected epicness, I was fooled :(

DS9 was epic. So was Voyager.
The last season or two of DS9 was alright, it was a pretty cool epic war. Too bad they suffered through so many boring seasons leading up to it. Same with Voyager, super lame until they killed a couple deadweight characters, then it ended very well.
I thought the movie was pretty good. Really ballsy move to create a whole new reality in which the none of the other films will ever have happened, and I'm glad they did it in a paradox-free way. Star Trek has made every possible time travel story blunder at least once, I think, and the funny thing is they never seem to remember they've time traveled before. My big problem is that it really strains credulity that every single member of the original bridge crew is in the academy at the same time and ends up at their same exact post on the Enterprise in this manner. Way too many coincidences. Also, what in Hell is "red matter"? Not that Star Trek is exactly known for its plausible technology, but they drop this new, powerful one in and everyone takes it in stride like it's something everyone's heard of before. And of course, Spock and Uhura just made me want to puke. But whatsisname (Chris Pine?) who did Kirk did an amazing job, and the opening scene with George Kirk was excellently done. Point defense turrets on the Enterprise are super cool. Scotty and McCoy were hilarious, but they should have kept the original characters to Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Scotty. I'd call it an above average Star Trek movie, and I look forward to seeing more.
Oh, and my anti-Star Trek wife loved it. She was mostly interested in seeing the "hot" guy playing Kirk, though.

I enjoyed watching it, but I think that might have had more to do with it being my first time in a theater since Serenity (iirc).
The only point, where my suspended disbelief really came crashing down, was when spock maroons kirk; no amount of emotion is going to make a starfleet officer do something like that, to another officer, when they have a brig or could confine them to quarters. Thinking about it afterward, though, there are a ton of places where a choice was made for an obvious action sequence without regard to the believability of the general situation (eg. absent drill-head defenses/ vulcan defenses). I wasn't able to twist up a techno-babble explanation in my head for the warp-core-ejection-escape, either.
All in all, I think I'd have a hard time enjoying it a second time, which puts it well below most of the even-numbered movies in my estimation.

Harsh, but yeah. Popcorn cinema.
I'll be looking forward to the new Terminator movie. Don't ask... we get movie releases about half a year later than you do x(

Meh. Movie theaters are for people who have money to burn.
15-20 bucks, per person, add drinks and popcorn, you're talkin close to a hundred dollars for a family of three..
Cheaper to stay my ass home and watch it on PayPerView, on my cable TV, for maybe 4.99, for the whole house, in a few more months..

I thought the roids looked better than they do in VO: they had more polygons and moved around more. The explosions also left more debris that hung around for longer. Sure, my computer does not have the processing capacity of a render farm, but when I am old and feeble this is what computer games will be like, with severed frosted dead body parts floating around in space after a kill, brushing against the ship and everything.
When this comes out on DVD I will have a great and drunk night playing the star trek drinking game and watching it again.
